The Super Bowl is a spectacle unlike anything else in pro sports. Media and news companies from all over the world travel to the host city every year to cover the big game, and the broadcast is frequently the most-watched program of the year.

Because of the hundreds of millions of eyes on the Super Bowl every year, the commercials run before, during, and after the game are the most expensive ads you can buy. According to Statista, the average cost for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial in 2023 is $7 million. That’s the most expensive average we’ve ever seen for the Super Bowl.

If you go back 21 years to 2002, the average cost of a 30-second ad was $2.2 million. The average cost has risen almost every year since then, and it’s only going to rise even more in the coming years.

According to SportBusiness, Fox expects to make $600 million on Super Bowl commercials in 2023. That’s not a bad day at the office, huh?
