As Super Bowl LIX approaches, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles have released their first injury reports, listing a total of 15 players.

With just over a week to go before the biggest game of the season, both teams are hoping their key players can recover in time for the highly anticipated showdown in New Orleans on February 9.

Philadelphia Eagles Injury Report

While the Eagles did not practice on Wednesday, NFL rules require teams to submit an estimated injury report. Here’s the breakdown of players who would have been affected:

Did Not Participate (DNP):

  • Saquon Barkley, RB (Rest)
  • A.J. Brown, WR (Rest)
  • Landon Dickerson, G (Knee)
  • Kenneth Gainwell, RB (Concussion/Knee)
  • Dallas Goedert, TE (Rest/Ankle)
  • Cam Jurgens, C (Back)
  • Moro Ojomo, DT (Shoulder)
  • DeVonta Smith, WR (Hamstring)
  • Brett Toth, OL (Knee)

Limited Participation:

  • Britain Covey, WR (Neck)

While Eagles fans may be alarmed by the length of the list, some key players—namely Barkley and Brown—were simply resting.

The biggest concerns heading into the Super Bowl revolve around Kenneth Gainwell’s concussion protocol and Landon Dickerson’s knee injury – both of which could impact the Eagles’ game plan.

Kansas City Chiefs Injury Report

The defending champions listed just five players on their injury report, all of whom participated fully in practice:

Full Participation:

  • Bryan Cook, S (Quad)
  • Kareem Hunt, RB (Quad)
  • Patrick Mahomes, QB (Ankle)
  • Jawaan Taylor, T (Knee)
  • Jaylen Watson, CB (Ankle)

The biggest name on this list is, of course, quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

However, Mahomes played through an ankle injury during the AFC Championship Game victory over the Buffalo Bills, showing no signs of significant discomfort.

With all five players practicing in full, the Chiefs are optimistic about having their key contributors ready for the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LIX Injury Concerns: Who to Watch

As the big game nears, all eyes will be on players dealing with injuries, particularly:

  • Kenneth Gainwell (Concussion/Knee) – Concussions can be unpredictable, making his availability uncertain.
  • Landon Dickerson (Knee) – A key piece of the Eagles’ offensive line, his status will be crucial.
  • Patrick Mahomes (Ankle) – While he played through the injury last game, any lingering effects could impact the Chiefs’ offensive strategy.

Both teams are hoping the two-week break will allow injured players to recover fully before the February 9 showdown.

While the Eagles have a longer list, several players are simply resting, while the Chiefs appear to be nearly at full strength.
