LIV Golf Boston Purse and Payouts: The Winner Won’t Come Close to Rory McIlroy’s $18 Million FedEx Cup Payday

With the PGA Tour season coming to a close a few days ago, the LIV Golf Invitational Series will take center stage for the first time this weekend. Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, and 45 others will tee it up at The International Golf Club in Boston for the fourth event of the inaguaral LIV Golf season.
The rival golf league has become appealing to professional golfers because of the massive signing bonuses and cash prizes at tournaments, but Rory McIlroy’s FedEx Cup payday is going to dwarf that of the winner’s this weekend. So, what is the purse for LIV Golf Boston, and how much money will the winner take home?
The winner of LIV Golf Boston will bank $14 million less than Rory McIlroy did at the Tour Championship

The field for LIV Golf’s fourth tournament of the year will be the most stacked yet. World No. 2 Cameron Smith is scheduled to make his debut with the rival tour this weekend along with Joaquin Niemann and four others.
Every player in the 48-man field will be competing for a massive cash prize, as the winner at The International will take home a cool $4 million.
Of course, that doesn’t seem too impressive considering McIlroy banked $18 million for winning the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup on Sunday. The Northern Irishman’s whopping payday is the largest for a single event in professional golf history.
The winner in Boston this weekend will take home $14 million less than McIlroy did just a few days ago, but it’s hard to imagine they’ll be complaining about a $4 million prize.
