Jones registered a hot qualifying lap of 130.957 mph Saturday, edging Taylor Gray by 0.103 seconds. Neither driver is competing in the Championship 4.

Three of those pilots will start in a group. Regular-season champion Connor Zilisch (130.227 mph) will start P4, Justin Allgaier (130.227) P5 and Jesse Love (130.194). The other final four driver, rookie Carson Kvapil (129.301), qualified 14th.

NASCAR Officials Announce Age Rule Changes

With the series name changing to O’Rielly Auto Parts Series, NASCAR officials announced Saturday that age requirements are changing for the circuit.

Beginning next season, 17-year-old drivers will be eligible to compete on oval tracks 1.25 miles or shorter and road courses. Rookie pilots at least 18 years old can participate at ovals 1.25 miles or longer.
