Taylor Townsend And Katerina Siniakova Win Thriller To Advance To BNP Paribas Open Quarterfinals

The top-ranked women’s doubles team delivered another thrilling win at the BNP Paribas Open on Monday night.  American Taylor Townsend and Czech Republic’s Katerina Siniakova, the reigning Wimbledon and Australian Open champions, had to stage a big comeback against the formidable pairing of Beatriz Haddad Maia and Laura Siegemund.

All four women played exceptional tennis in this match. It was no surprise that it came down to a ten-point tiebreak to decide it.  Townsend and Siniakova were down 1-5, and things looked bleak.

Then, Siniakova made a tremendous shot around the net for a winner that invigorated them.
