The 16-year-old will not play in next month’s U.S. Open.
Woods could not advance past local qualifying after shooting a 3-over-75 at Wellington Golf Club on Thursday. Woods was seven shots off from moving into the final 36-hole stage.
Woods fails to qualify for the U.S. Open for the second consecutive year.
Last year, Woods shot a 9-over 81 at The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The aspiring professional improved on his score from a year ago. However, the U.S. Open will have to wait at least one more year for the younger Woods to participate.
Qualifying for the U.S. Open has never been harder. Woods was one of the record-breaking 10,202 players accepted for the U.S. Open. Only 156 players will tee off at the U.S. Open.
With most of the spots going to players on the PGA and LIV tours, the chances of making the tournament through local qualifying are slim.

Unfortunately for the USGA, the entire Woods family won’t be at the 2025 U.S. Open.
Tiger is currently dealing with an Achilles injury suffered earlier this year.
“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Woods wrote in a statement posted to X. “This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon. ‘The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery,’ added Dr. Stucken.
“I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”
Woods has not played in a PGA Tour event since the 2024 Open Championship.
The U.S. Open is June 12-15 at Oakmont.
