We are entering the latter stages of the 2025 WTA Finals. On Wednesday, Elena Rybakina and Amanda Anisimova earned their spots in Friday’s semifinals. Anisimova’s path to the semifinals resulted in a gutsy three-set win over Iga Swiatek to avenge the Wimbledon 6-0, 6-0 loss. Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek were eliminated.
Thursday’s Day 6 will be equally captivating since three women are competing for two semifinal spots. With Jasmine Paolini eliminated, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula will be in contention for the semifinals.
There are a host of overly complicated scenarios, but the fact of the matter is, each woman wants to win her match today to give herself the best chance.

Gauff is the only former WTA Finals champion left in the draw.
WTA Finals Day 6 Matches
Jessica Pegula faces Jasmine Paolini at approximately 9 AM EST. Paolini has not played her best in Riyadh with a heavy schedule of both singles and doubles. She is believed to be dealing with an illness similar to what caused Madison Keys to withdraw. Even on her worst day, she is still a consummate competitor who will work for every point and try to play the spoiler to Pegula’s semifinal aspirations.
Aryna Sabalenka faces Coco Gauff at approximately 10:30 AM EST. Sabalenka lost to Gauff at the 2025 French Open and was pushed to the limit by Jessica Pegula in Round Robin action. Gauff continues to work on her serve in real time so the new fangled serve is not yet a consistent weapon. She has shown that she can win without a steady serve, but that would be a tougher ask against a player of Sabalenka’s caliber.
Tournament Highlights
Rybakina’s level has been fun to watch this week. It’s her third trip to the WTA Finals, and she has not played this well prior. The shoulder tape worn during her match with Ekaterina Alexandrova was a bit concerning, but it’s the end of the season so everyone is probably not feeling 100%.
Anisimova’s problem solving in her Swiatek match was great to see. That Wimbledon loss has been avenged (at the US Open and in Riyadh), and she is such a powerful player when all her shots are hitting their marks.
