Wyndham Championship Purse and Payouts: How Much Money Will the Winner Take Home?
The PGA Tour regular season comes to a close this weekend at the Wyndham Championship. It will be an important week for many players at Sedgefield Country Club, as it marks their last chance to crack the top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings and qualify for the playoffs.
The eventual winner of the tournament will also cash a hefty check on Sunday afternoon. So, what is the purse for the 2022 Wyndham Championship, and how much money will the winner take home?
The winner of the 2022 Wyndham Championship will take home $1.3 million
The Wyndham Championship isn’t the most popular stop on the PGA Tour schedule. It simply can’t compete with the major championships or the Players Championship, for example, so its purse understandably isn’t as large.
Still, more than $7 million will be dished out from Sedgefield Country Club this weekend, with the winner taking home a cool $1.314 million. The grand prize has been increased from last year’s tournament, as Kevin Kisner won just $1.152 million for his victory last season.
The purse itself is up 14% from last year, which has been a theme on the PGA Tour all year long. We’ve seen record purses at nearly every event in 2022, and that should be the case again next season with LIV Golf putting pressure on the PGA Tour to compensate its players more fairly.
