The Seattle Reign (formerly OL Reign) of the NWSL have decided to retire the #15 jersey formerly worn by retired star Megan Rapinoe.

On Thursday, Seattle Reign announced the retirement of the number 15 jersey worn by former US soccer superstar Megan Rapinoe, who retired in November. The official retirement of the jersey will take place at a ceremony organized by the club in the Women’s Super League during the American Women’s Championship on August 25 when it hosts the North Carolina Courage.

The 2019 Women’s Ballon d’Or winner and American soccer icon signed up with the Seattle club in 2014 and went on to play there until the end of her career after a brief spell with Olympique Lyonnais (2013-2014). “I’ve been through so much with this jersey, I’m so proud to see it retired for me,” said Megan Rapinoe, 38, in a statement.
