In each generation, there’s an NHL player who’s tapped to be the next Wayne Gretzky. Connor McDavid might not have eclipsed the Great One just yet, but he has lived up to the hype.
The Richmond Hill, Ontario native burst onto the scene in the Toronto area before making a splash with the OHL’s Erie Otters. He then joined the Edmonton Oilers as the first overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft. From there the rest is history.
While he’s yet to carry the Oilers back to the promised land, McDavid has emerged as a legitimate NHL star. With his combination of speed, scoring ability, and outragous skill, the forward more than lives up to his “McJesus” moniker.
