Tour Championship Tee Times, Full Field and Current FedEx Cup Standings: Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy Paired For Opening Round

The 2025 Tour Championship tee times have been officially confirmed, with world number one and defending FedEx Cup champion Scottie Scheffler paired five-time major champion Rory McIlroy for the opening 18-holes.

There are a total of 15 two-balls teeing it up for 72-holes at East Lake Golf Club this week in the FedEx Cup play-off finale in the final tournament of the PGA Tour season.

Tour Championship Tee Times: Scheffler and McIlroy Paired Together For First 18-Holes

For the second consecutive week, world number one Scottie Scheffler will play alongside five-time major champion Rory McIlroy. As the no.1 and no.2 players in the current FedEx Cup standings, McIlroy and Scheffler have been grouped together for Round 1 on Thursday.

As well as being grouped together, golf betting sites have made the two multi-major champions the two outright betting favourites for the 2025 Tour Championship.

Scheffler is as short as 13/8 with some bookmakers to win a second successive FedEx Cup and back-to-back Tour Championship titles. The Northern Irishman on the other hand is the second favourite at odds of 7/1.

Both McIlroy and Scheffler tee off for their opening 18-holes at 7pm (GMT) on Thursday. They are the final group out on the East Lake golf course, with 14 two-balls taking to the fairways prior to the final group.

Some other eye-catching pairs include JJ Spaun and Justin Rose (6.49pm), Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland (5pm), Hideki Matsuyama and Shane Lowry (4.49pm) and Tommy Fleetwood and Ben Griffin (6.38pm).

Tour Championship Tee Times/Pairs Will Change Each Day

Given that there are just 30 players in action for the FedEx Cup finale this weekend at East Lake Golf Club and the fact there is no cut, this means the Tour Championship tee times and groups will change for all four rounds.

The tee times will depend on where a player sits on the leaderboard after each round. So, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are playing at 7pm on Thursday, but won’t necessarily be grouped together for Round 2 on Friday.

After the opening 18-holes, whoever occupies the top two spots on the leaderboard will go out as the final two-ball. This means that the tee times and groups are likely to change each day.

So although Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa are grouped for their Thursday round, there is no guarantee that they’ll be in the same two-ball for any of the remaining three rounds.

It all entirely depends on a players place on the leaderboard after each of the four individual rounds of Tour Championship action at East Lake GC.

All 30 players in action this week are in with a chance of winning a large portion of the $40m Tour Championship prize money on offer come Sunday.

Whoever wins the Tour Championship will not only be crowned the 2025 FedEx Cup champion, but will also pocket the maximum $10m purse.
