Wales vs Belgium Betting Tips, Odds, and Bet Builder for World Cup Qualifying

Third-placed Wales will host second-placed Belgium in a potentially decisive Group J clash at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday night.

North Macedonia are currently leading Group J with 12 points, sitting one point ahead of Belgium and two ahead of Wales. Belgium and Wales, however, have played one game fewer.

Wales Host Belgium in Consequential Group J Encounter

Wales ended a 64-year drought by qualifying for the World Cup in 2022. Now, they find themselves in a good place to qualify for yet another World Cup finals. If they succeed, it would be their first time making it to two World Cups in a row.

Wales have won three of their five World Cup qualifiers, beating Kazakhstan twice and Liechtenstein. They drew 1-1 with North Macedonia and suffered a 4-3 defeat to Belgium in June.

Since losing to Belgium, Wales have played two friendlies, losing both. They lost 1-0 to Canada in September, and suffered a brutal 3-0 defeat to England at Wembley Stadium last week.

Craig Bellamy’s side conceded all three goals in the first 20 minutes. They have now conceded seven first-half goals in the last four games.

Belgium, who are second in the Group J rankings, have yet to suffer a defeat in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. They kicked off their campaign with a 1-1 draw with North Macedonia, beat Wales (4-3), Liechtenstein (6-0), and Kazakhstan (6-0), before drawing (0-0) again with Macedonia.

In the reverse fixture against North Macedonia, Belgium took 25 shots and created three big chances, generating an xG of 3.20. Spectacularly they failed to convert and Macedonia escaped with a massive point.

Wales vs Belgium Betting Tips

  • Belgium to Win – 3/4
  • Both Teams to Score – 4/5
  • Total Corners Over 8.5 – 4/7

Belgium to Win

Belgium have played impressive football in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. They are unbeaten in five matches, winning three and drawing two. The Belgian Red Devils have scored 17 goals and conceded four.

Rudi Garcia also has an abundance of match-winners at his disposal, which gives the visitors the edge heading into Monday’s fixture.

Wales, meanwhile, have an impressive competitive record at home, having not lost in 90 minutes since June 2023 (W 6, D 3), winning the last four.

However, between their poor recent record (3 defeats in 4 games) and leaky defence, it is difficult to back them over Kevin De Bruyne and Co.

Both Teams to Score

Belgium have scored 17 goals in the World Cup qualifiers, failing to hit the back of the net in just one match. Wales, on the other hand,  have scored in all five qualifiers.

The two teams produced a seven-game thriller the last time they met. It would be a big surprise if either team keep a clean sheet on Monday.

Total Corners Over 8.5

Belgium are expected to pile pressure on Wales in their World Cup qualifier on Monday. With long-range shooters like Kevin De Bruyne and Youri Tielemans in the team, it would not be a surprise if the visitors alone registered over eight corners.

Wales may not be able to put as much pressure, but they tend to get around three corners even in the matches they struggle in.

In their last meeting, which ended 4-3 in Belgium’s favour, the teams had 12 corners between them.
