Alexander Volkanovski vs Movsar Evloev Confirmed For UFC 325 Main Event
UFC 324 is scheduled to be a huge card in January to launch the Paramount+ broadcast deal, with rumours that UFC 325 will land in Sydney, Australia in February 2026.
With the second numbered card of next year pencilled in for Sydney in February, it comes as no surprise to learn that the fighting pride of Australia himself will headline UFC 325 in his home country.
That’s right, Alexander Volkanovski vs Movsar Evloev is set to headline UFC 325 and is reportedly officially signed with an announcement imminent.
‘The Great’ will aim to defend his 145-pound crown against the #1 featherweight contender in his home country, looking to further establish himself as the greatest 145-pound MMA fighter in history.
Volkanovski was a 214-pound rugby player before turning to MMA, where he has since become an all-time great. Now, he aims to create more history and look to defend the UFC Featherweight Title for the sixth time.
This upcoming UFC 325 main event will in fact be Volkanovski’s 11th straight UFC Title fight. Two of those have been up at lightweight for the belt, with all the rest at featherweight.
Volkanovski’s only defeats during these 10 title fights have come against the two leading pound-for-pound stars in Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria. Now, Movsar Evloev stands in his way from making another successful defence of his featherweight crown.
Evloev is undefeated as an MMA fighter, boasting a perfect 19-0 record. His last three wins have all been against top class fighters, so he has more than earned his shot at the champion at UFC 325.
Volkanovski vs Evloev was signed for UFC 323 previously, but Dana White and co decided to push the fight back a couple of months so ‘The Great’ could headline in his home country instead.

Why Was Lerone Murphy Snubbed Of Alexander Volkanovski Clash?
Following his sensational knockout win over Aaron Pico, it looked for a while like Lerone Murphy was getting the next UFC Featherweight Title shot.
At one stage, it was even being reported that Alexander Volkanovski vs Lerone Murphy was confirmed, but that is no longer the case. Instead, Murphy will have to bide his time and wait for his 145-pound title shot.
This is of course dependent on how Murphy does in his next fight, which has been confirmed for UFC 324 against former UFC Featherweight Title contender Diego Lopes.
Should Murphy beat Lopes, he simply cannot be denied a shot at the 145-pound belt. If he is victorious against the #2 ranked featherweight Lopes, Lerone Murphy will undoubtedly be next in line for a shot at Volkanovski, or Evloev, depending on who wins their UFC 325 main event in Sydney in February.
Who Will The Volkanovski vs Evloev Favourite Be?
With no official odds released yet, the Alexander Volkanovski vs Movsar Evloev betting favourite is currently unknown.
However, as the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion and MMA legend, price-setters will likely list ‘The Great’ as a marginal favourite against the challenger for this 145-pound title match-up.
Volkanovski’s record is one of the most impressive in UFC history, with 10 consecutive UFC title fights already under his belt in what is sure to be a Hall of Fame career in the near future.
That being said, Evloev is undefeated in the octagon and has never really been close to losing a fight, so he may well head into UFC 325 as a marginal favourite over Volkanovski.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who is the favourite once the pair face off inside the octagon come fight night. Combat sports are so unpredictable at times, so odds and pricing means absolutely nothing when it comes to a real fight.
UFC 325 will be no easy task for ‘The Great’ however, but he will be able to rely on his hometown Sydney crowd to pull him through if he’s up against it when facing the 19-0 challenger.
Time will tell how Alexander Volkanovski vs Movsar Evloev plays out in the UFC 325 main event in Sydney, Australia in February 2026.
