Three-weight undisputed world champion Terence Crawford accepted a fight with Jake Paul prior to the Anthony Joshua fight announcement.

The 42-0 unbeaten American was reported one of at least ’30 fighters who accepted’ a bout with Paul, according to Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nakisa Bidarian.

Terence Crawford Accepted Jake Paul Fight

It has been revealed by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) CEO Nakisa Bidarian that undisputed super-middleweight champion Terence Crawford officially accepted a fight with Jake Paul.

Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr branded Crawford unbeatable after defeating Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez last time out to become a three-weight undisputed world champion, but it seems the pound-for-pound star was willing to face Paul in a professional bout, despite all of his previous accolades.

Anthony Joshua has received a fair share of criticism for accepting a fight with ‘The Problem Child’. However, boxing is a sport of prize fighting at the end of the day, and it’s a ‘no brainer’ to accept a fight with a relative novice for tens-of-millions of pounds. That is exactly what ‘AJ’ has done.

Although it is Joshua who ended up getting the Paul fight, Crawford was also incredibly keen to face the YouTube personality and former Disney channel star.

Not only was Crawford willing to face Paul, he actually accepted the fight. According to Bidarian, the 42-0 unbeaten star ‘was 100% in’ to face the controversial Ohio-born fighter before they explored the Joshua option.

Crawford is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of the 21st century and is still at the top of his game, so the fact that he was even willing to step into the ring with Jake Paul shows just how much of a cash cow and superstar the 28-year-old actually is.

Crawford Amongst ’30 Fighters Who Accepted’ A Fight With Jake Paul Prior To Anthony Joshua Announcement

The Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul rules have been confirmed for their professional boxing bout on December 19, with the former two-time unified world heavyweight king getting the nod ahead of a number of other fighters to get in the ring with Paul.

According to MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian, Joshua was one of ’30 fighters who accepted’ a fight with ‘The Problem Child’. As previously mentioned, Terence Crawford was another man who did the exact same but wasn’t selected as Paul’s opponent.

“There were probably 30 fighters who accepted,” Bidarian revealed.

“AJ being one of them, Terence Crawford being another. AJ is the one that we came to an agreement on. Crawford was 100% in,” concluded the MVP co-founder.

The fact that one of the most decorated fighters in world boxing and arguably the pound-for-pound #1 is willing to face Paul speaks volumes about the value and collateral he brings to the table and the sheer pull he now has in boxing circles.

Although Crawford was held at gunpoint during a victory parade after his historic win over ‘Canelo’, the American was reportedly back in the gym and is preparing for his next fight in the New Year.

It obviously won’t be against the 28-year-old, but you certainly can’t rule Crawford vs Paul out from happening in the future.
