Cristiano Ronaldo ensured Diogo Jota and his family were included as he gifted each member of Portugal’s Nations League-winning squad a luxury commemorative watch.
According to SIC journalist Nuno Luz, Ronaldo personally ordered the custom-made watches from his luxury watchmaker friend, Jacob Arabo.
Ronaldo sent the watches to his teammates ahead of their first 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Armenia.
Although the price has not been revealed, considering the custom design and the quality of materials used, it is expected to cost several thousand pounds.

Cristiano Ronaldo Includes Diogo Jota and His Family in Nations League Honours
In June, Portugal became the first team to win the UEFA Nations League twice, beating neighbours Spain in the final.
To commemorate the win, captain Cristiano Ronaldo got a custom-made watch from Jacob & Co. for each of his teammates. Ronaldo also had one made for Diogo Jota — who died in a tragic car accident at the age of 28 alongside his brother Andre Silva — and sent it to his family.
“These are details that are done without publicity and that show the genuine way Cristiano Ronaldo is,” said Nuno Luz live on SIC Noticias.
“Often, people on the outside have an image of him that doesn’t correspond to reality.”
Ronaldo Previously Faced Criticism for Missing Jota’s Funeral
The inclusion of Diogo Jota and his family is especially notable given the heavy criticism Cristiano Ronaldo faced after missing the former Liverpool star’s funeral.
The Al-Nassr star later defended his decision, saying he did not want to divert attention away from Jota’s family.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, he said:
“Two things: people criticise me a lot. I don’t care about that. When your conscience is good and free, you don’t have to worry about what people say.
“But one of the things I don’t do? After my father died, I have never been to a cemetery again. When you know me, and you know my reputation? Wherever I go, it is a circus.”
Ronaldo and Jota shared the pitch 32 times for Portugal, combining for seven goals. Jota assisted Ronaldo five times, with the 40-year-old returning the favour on two occasions.
