The 2025 3M Open prize money on offer this week is $8.4m, rising by $300,000 from last year. Since the maiden 3M Open back in 2019, the total purse has increased by $2m in just six years.

Below we have outlined the FULL purse breakdown for all 90 players who will earn some form of prize money at TPC Twin Cities this week.

$8.4M Worth Of 3M Open Prize Money On Offer This Week

This week sees the 3M Open take centre-stage on the PGA Tour in what is the first regular PGA Tour event following the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush last week.

Scottie Scheffler, who’s net worth recently hit $60m, reigned supreme in Northern Ireland to win The Open, but will not be in action this week in Minnesota as he enjoys a fortnight away from the golf course before the business end of the FedEx Cup season.

A whole host of top players are missing the 3M Open this week. In total just 12 of the world’s top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings are teeing it up at TPC Twin Cities this week for the 3M Open. Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy is another huge name missing this week.

Along with these aforementioned names missing from the 3M Open field are the likes of Justin Thomas, Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, Keegan Bradley and Collin Morikawa to name but a few of the rest of the field.

As a non-elevated PGA Tour event, the 3M Open prize money is a lot smaller than some other tournaments. That being said, there is still a lucrative purse on offer, which will be split between the top 90 players in the field come Sunday.

In total, there is $8.4m in prize money up for grabs at the 3M Open this week at TPC Twin Cities. This sees an increase of $300,000 from last year, where the total prize pot was $8.1m. In fact, this is the fourth consecutive year that the 3M Open prize money has increased.

Last year it was Jhonattan Vegas who reigned supreme at the 3M Open on a score of -17 par. This year, he aims to go back-to-back but is one of the outsiders with golf betting sites in the current market.

All eyes are on TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota this week as the PGA Tour is back following a truly epic Open Championship last week in Northern Ireland. All the action gets underway on Thursday 24th July, but who will claim victory come Sunday?

3M Open Winners Purse Rises To $1,512,000 For PGA Tour Event

Whoever goes on to lift the trophy come Sunday will be in for a bumper payday and large share of the 3M Open prize money pot for the 2025 showing of this PGA Tour event.

Whoever clinches victory come Sunday will leave TPC Twin Cities with an extra $1,512,000 in the bank, with the runner-up also pocketing a tidy $915,600.

This $8.4m purse is one of the smallest on the PGA Tour, completely dwarfed by the four majors and the eight elevated PGA Tour signature events. That being said, in the grand scheme of things the 3M Open prize money is still highly lucrative.

Even the player that finishes in 90th place will be guaranteed a payday of $13,860. Not bad for four days of work! The higher up the leaderboard a player finishes, the more money they will earn – simple!

3M Open Prize Money Has Increased By $2M In The Last Six Years

With the total prize pot for this year’s 3M Open increasing to $8.4m, this means that there has been an increase of $2m since Matt Wolff won the maiden event back in 2019.

There has been a steady rise in the total purse on offer at the 3M Open over the years. Back in 2019 when Wolff won his one and only PGA Tour title as a huge outsider, he pocketed $1,152,000 for his success.

Now, the player that finishes first receives just shy of $400k more in prize money than this. The prize pot started at $6.4m in 2019, before increasing to $6.6m for both the 2020 and 2021 events. In 2022, the 3M Open purse then increased again to $7.5m – a $900k increase.

Since then, the 3M Open prize money has increased steadily by $300,000 each and every year up to now. Expect the prize pot to increase once again next year, perhaps by another $300k to $8.7m in total.

Below is a table outlining the FULL 2025 3M Open prize money and purse breakdown.
