Adrian Lewis has confirmed his return to darts as he eyes Q-School in January to regain PDC Tour card.
The two-time world champion last competed in the PDC in March 2023, but is eying a return after revealing his intentions of attending Q-School in January.
Adrian Lewis Confirms Darts Return
Adrian Lewis remains one of the biggest names in world darts, despite not having set foot on a PDC oche in over 30 months.
The back-to-back world champion clinched victory at both the 2011 and 2012 World Darts Championship, as well as winning numerous other titles throughout his illustrious career.
However, that all stopped in 2023 with ‘Jackpot’ stepping back from the sport for good. Lewis admitted he ‘needed freshening up a bit’, whilst also admitting ‘the buzz wasn’t there’ anymore.
After 29 months away from the oche altogether, Lewis made his darts comeback in August, but not on the PDC. Lewis teamed up with Steve Beaton at the MODUS Live Lounge in a pairs event, showcasing his incredible skills once more.
Now he has a taste for competitive darts again, Lewis has confirmed his official return to darts. The two-time world champion has revealed to Juicy Darts that he is planning his return, which may even come as early as January 2026.
Although he hasn’t officially confirmed his entry into Q-School in January, the English darting star has confirmed he will 100% return in either 2026 or 2027.
Lewis would undoubtedly bring a new lease of life into the PDC should he gain a Tour Card again. Lewis is a showman on the oche, with some hailing him the original king of the nine-dart finish.
Should ‘Jackpot’ make his competitive return, tantalising tungsten tussles with the likes of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen would be simply epic viewing.
Adrian Lewis Eying Q-School In January To Regain PDC Tour Card
With Adrian Lewis’ darts return confirmed, fans are wondering when exactly we will see ‘Jackpot’ back on the oche.
Although the former two-time world champion hasn’t confirmed exactly when he will make his highly anticipated return, it will most definitely be in 2026 or 2027.
Q-School takes place every January with almost 900 darts players attempting to earn a PDC Tour Card. Lewis could well be one of those players come January time after confirming he is ‘leaning towards’ entering Q-School.
“I am leaning towards going back to Q-School. We’ll just have to wait and see. I’ve got to make sure I’m mentally right, and that’s what it comes down to more than anything else,” Lewis told Juicy Darts.
“It’s alright hitting 100-plus averages on the exhibition circuit, but can you do it on a regular basis in Q-School? I do definitely think I’ll be back – even if it’s not next year it will probably be the year after,” revealed the former two-time world champion.
The English darting star is one of the most followed darts players on Instagram, and has revealed that he is somewhat getting back in his groove after competing against the likes of world number one Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall.
“I’ve been playing really well in patches. I averaged 116 a couple of weeks ago and averaged 109 and lost to Luke Humphries!
“I played c**p against Gezzy Price, apart from that I’ve been doing well. I’ve beaten Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross and the majority of them,” Lewis revealed.
With confirmation that Lewis will return to darts in the next year or so, we could well see ‘Jackpot’ competing against the worlds best week in, week out once again.
