We are expecting to see two Aidan O’Brien Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe runners in Europe’s richest horse race on Sunday – as the Ballydoyle handler looks to add to his record of two wins in the race.
Aidan O’Brien Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Runners Include Last Year’s Third
Last year we saw the Aidan O’Brien Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe runner Los Angeles run third in the race (watch below) – beaten just 2 3/4 lengths behind Bluestocking, with Aventure sandwiched between the pair in second.
He was aged three in 2024, so got a handy weight allowance (3lbs) from the older colts – but back in 2025 aged 4 means he’ll have to carry the maximum 9-5 this year.
Last year’s third returned this season to win the G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh in May – but has not fired since.
He’s been a beaten jolly in both the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Royal Whip Stakes – and was last seen running 4th in the Prix Foy at Longchamp a fair trial.
Overall, it’s hard to rule out Los Angeles after taking bronze in the race last year, but he does need to bounce back from being a beaten favourite in two of his last three races.
The horse racing betting sites are making him around 33/1 to do just that.
Minnie Hauk The Main 2025 Aidan O’Brien Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Runner
Los Angeles will also be joined by stablemate Minnie Hauk, who has been supplemented for the race in midweek for €120k.
Minnie Hauk is a 3 year-old filly so will get the full weight allowance – both age and sex – meaning she’ll have just 8-9 to carry.
The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe has also been a great race for the ladies in recent years too.
Since 2016 the race has seen FIVE filly or mare winners – including last year with Bluestocking.
One of those female winners was also trained by a certain Aidan O’Brien, when Found powered home in 2016 under Ryan Moore.
Minnie Hauk will head into Sunday’s race as one of the fancies and being named after an US opera singer in the 1800’s – she’ll be hoping to hit the high notes at Longchamp.
She’s already done just that his season – winning four Oak races – Cheshire, Epsom, Irish and Yorkshire – and needs just £19k in prize money to break the £1m barrier.
But with the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe prize money purse €5m there’s every chance see will top the million earned.
Finally, if going off as favourite the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe trends tell is seven of the last 23 market leaders have won.
Everything points to a big run – as long as she takes to the Longchamp track, where she’ll be running for the first time.

Aidan O’Brien Has Won The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Twice Before
Aidan O’Brien has won the Arc twice in the past.
Some might be surprised it’s not more, but this is always one of the most competitive flat races of the season.
However, he’s still some way off the record haul of eight Andre Fabre Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winners – but with Minnie Hauk a big fancy for many in 2025, he could move a step closer to the legendary French trainer.
The two O’Brien Arc winners were DYLAN THOMAS in 2007 and FOUND in 2016.
Dylan Thomas was ridden by Kieran Fallon and provided the former champion jockey with his second win in the race having won it two years earlier on Hurricane Lane.
Aidan O’Brien had to wait nine years to grab his next Arc winner, which came with the classy filly FOUND in 2016.
That year the race was staged at Chantilly, with Longchamp being refurbished – and O’Brien actually fired home a 1-2-3 that year.
With Highland Reel taking silver and Order Of St George bronze.
Ryan Moore rode Found and like Fallon this win was his second in the race – having won the Arc in 2010 on former Epsom Derby winner Workforce.
