Some bookmakers believe that Alexander Isak to Liverpool is a done deal, with odds as low as 1/5 on offer for the Newcastle striker to complete a transfer to Anfield.
Betting Suggests Alexander Isak To Liverpool Is A Done Deal
According to the latest betting odds, Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool looks to be a done deal.
Isak has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield after informing Newcastle chiefs that he wishes to explore a move away from St. James’ Park this summer.
The Reds made an informal approach for the striker earlier in the window, and after being rebuffed by the Magpies, they moved to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for ÂŁ79m.
Despite this, they remain huge admirers of the forward and could yet swoop for his signature.
Newcastle value the 25-year-old at around ÂŁ150m and boast a strong bargaining position due to the fact that he has three years remaining on his current contract on Tyneside.
It has been reported that Arne Slot may have to sanction a few departures before a bid can be lodged, with the likes of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa among those to be linked with exits.
Isak has missed the majority of the Magpies’ pre-season preparations due to a ‘minor thigh issue’. He wasn’t part of the club’s travelling squad to East Asia, remaining at home instead.
And now, amid intense links with an exit, Liverpool are heavily favoured to land the former Borussia Dortmund star, with some betting sites pricing him as low as 1/5 to make the switch.

Eddie Howe Admits Isak Future Is ‘Out of His Control’
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was asked about Isak’s future on Tuesday, ahead of his side’s 1-0 loss to the K-League Allstars, revealing that they are yet to receive a formal offer for the striker.
“He is still our player. He’s contracted to us. We, to a degree, control what is next for him.
Howe continued:“I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control.
“We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club. My wish is that he stays and we see him playing again next year.
“I think if we lost any player it would upset us. Weâre a tight knit group thatâs been together for two, three years now so, yeah, any player that leaves doesnât help.
“But, from our point of view weâll control what we can control. At the moment weâre looking forward to getting Alex [Isak] back when heâs fit.”
Although Howe was keen to reiterate that the attacker remains contracted to the club, the Magpies’ market activity indicates that they are already preparing for his inevitable departure.
This is as betting odds suggest that Newcastle already have Isak’s replacement in the bag, as they are favoured to land Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig despite interest from Manchester United.
The Slovenian is set to cost between ÂŁ60m to ÂŁ70m plus add-ons, according to reports.
Newcastle continue their pre-season preparations against Tottenham in Seoul on Sunday afternoon. Liverpool, meanwhile, face Athletic Club in a unique double friendly on Monday.
