Boxing promoter Ben Shalom has revealed plans for a Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Chris Eubank Jr super-fight in the UK. Talks are reportedly underway for a Canelo vs Eubank Jr fight to be staged at Wembley Stadium next year.

Canelo vs Eubank Jr At Wembley Stadium Next Year?

Boxing fans could be treated to a blockbuster fight next year between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Chris Eubank Jr, reveals promoter Ben Shalom.

Chris Eubank Jr, one of the biggest names in British boxing, was reportedly offered the ‘Canelo’ fight earlier this year, but turned it down due to ring inactivity and not wanting to face the best fighter in the super-middleweight division after a prolonged period of absence.

However, talks have reported restarted between both parties for a potential fight in 2025. Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom, who signed ‘Next Gen’ to his stable of fighters a matter of months ago, has stated his desire to make the Canelo vs Eubank Jr super-fight in the UK next year.

It would have seemed extremely unrealistic to have ‘Canelo‘ fight anywhere outside of Mexico or the US not so long ago, but times are changing now. With the involvement of His Excellency Turki Alalshikh , the thought of a Canelo vs Eubank Jr fight going down in the UK isn’t totally beyond the realms of possibility.

In fact, it seems the fight could be made fairly easily for 2025. If so, it would likely head to a big stadium with tens of thousands of fans in attendance. Where better than Wembley Stadium to host the Canelo vs Eubank Jr super-fight if it does get made?

Ben Shalom Reveals ‘Small Conversations’ Are Underway For Canelo vs Eubank Jr

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, boxing promoter Ben Shalom has revealed that talks are underway for a potential super-fight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Chris Eubank Jr for next year.

“We’ve already started small conversations around the Canelo fight,” said Shalom on the possibility of making the Canelo vs Eubank Jr super fight next year.

“If he’s [Canelo] ever going to fight in the UK, that’s the fight and that would sell out Wembley Stadium. That’s number one on the list for me,” added the young boxing promoter.

Time will tell whether Chris Eubank Jr’s next fight is indeed against the great Mexican or now. Similarly, there has been lots of speculation around Canelo’s next fight too, so it remains to be seen what officially happens for both parties.

A Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Chris Eubank Jr fight would undoubtedly do incredible numbers at somewhere like Wembley Stadium. Rest assured the British boxing public would come out in force to witness the great ‘Canelo’ in the flesh. Not to mention the thousands of Mexicans who would travel over to UK shores for the bout.

The best boxing betting sites in the UK would heavily favour the Mexican if the fight ever did get made, with ‘Next Gen’ a fairly wide underdog with bookmakers. Let’s hope the fight gets made and we witness Canelo’s first ever fight in the UK next year!
