Fresh from winning the 2025 Community Shield on Sunday, Eagles fans were brought back to earth on Monday as the news broke that Crystal Palace LOST their Europa League Appeal – with The Court Of Arbitration upholding UEFA’s decision to put Palace in the Europa Conference League due to multi-club ownership rules.
Crystal Palace LOSE Europa League Appeal As The Court of Arbitration Uphold UEFA Decision
The Crystal Palace ‘will they, won’t they’ be allowed to play in the Europa League – saga is seemingly over.
With The Court Of Arbitration ruling on Monday that Crystal Palace have LOST their Europa League appeal.
When beating City at Wembley in the FA Cup, Palace had their second prize for winning – a place in the Europa League – but this was quickly put in doubt due to multi-club ownership rules.
The Eagles ending up in this predicament with former shareholder John Textor being a majority shareholder with French club Lyon – who also qualified for the Europa League.
As a result of not putting his shares in a blind trust by the March 1st deadline – this led to the Eagles being demoted to the Conference League by UEFA.
However, Palace and their chairman Steve Parish appealed his decision in a 10-hour hearing on Friday in front of three CAS judges.
With Parish saying after the hearing he was confident “common sense will prevail” – but he was wrong.
As it was announced on Monday 11th August that Crystal Palace have LOST their Europa League appeal.
Which came a day after the club beat Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembley.

With the loser, which is looking like Fredrikstad, will get the Eagles in a two-leg Europa Conference League play-off game.
The first leg will be at Selhurst Park on Thursday 21st August and the second a week later.
