Ryan Searle Nine-Darter Players Championship 7

Ryan Searle claimed the title at Players Championship 4, beating Cameron Menzies 8-3 in an impressive final at the 2025 Pro Tour event in Rosmalen, Netherlands.

The win marks Searle’s seventh career darts Pro Tour title and his first in this year’s series, making it a standout achievement in his career.

Searle Defeats Menzies in the Final

The final was a thrilling contest between two in-form players, with Menzies getting off to a strong start, having held his throw with a solid 12-dart leg in the opening round and following it up with a 15-darter.

However, Searle soon found his rhythm, levelling the match with a brilliant 96 checkout in the fourth leg.

The turning point came in leg five when Searle broke Menzies’ throw with a 13-dart leg.

From there, Searle gained momentum, hitting two 180s in the next leg to take a 4-2 lead. Menzies held his throw in the seventh leg, but Searle restored his two-leg advantage immediately after, going 5-3 ahead.

Searle then broke throw to make it 6-3, moving closer to the finish line, before sealing the deal with a precise double top in the 11th leg to win 8-3.

Ryan Searle’s Road to Victory

“Heavy Metal” began the tournament with a dominant 6-0 victory over Florian Hempel, followed by a 6-2 win over Mensur Suljovic.

The 37-year-old continued his march to the final with victories over Owen Bates (6-1), Mickey Mansell (6-5), William O’Connor (6-4), and Stefan Bellmont (7-6).

Searle’s consistency throughout the event was a key factor in his victory, before averaging a solid 100.76 in the final.

Cameron Menzies’ Strong Performance

While Searle took the top prize, Cameron Menzies also put in a stellar performance to reach his third Players Championship final.

The Scotsman made his way to the final by overcoming several tricky opponents, including a 6-5 win over José de Sousa and a 6-3 victory over World No. 5 Stephen Bunting.

Menzies was in excellent form, particularly during his 6-3 win over James Wade in the quarter-finals.

Despite his strong start in the final, Menzies couldn’t maintain his momentum against Searle, and he ultimately fell short at 3-8.
