Khamzat Chimaev Next Fight - UFC

Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight is yet to be confirmed, but a UFC Middleweight Title shot looks highly likely. After submitting Robert Whittaker inside one round at UFC 308, Chimaev could well be next in line for a shot at the Dricus Du Plessis and the 185-pound belt in 2025.

Khamzat Chimaev Next Fight: Who Is The Undefeated Russian Fighting Next?

Despite being just 30-years-old and only having had eight UFC fights to date, Khamzat Chimaev is already one of the biggest stars in all of professional MMA.

‘Borz’ currently boasts an unblemished record of 14-0. This consists of six knockout victories, six submissions and two wins via decision. The Russian MMA phenom has won each of his eight UFC fights to date, six of which have come inside the distance.

UFC fans last saw Khamzat Chimaev in action at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. This performance saw Chimaev destroy Robert Whittaker inside Round 1 of their bout, putting the entire world on notice that he should indeed be the man in line for a shot at UFC gold next in the 185-pound division.

UFC President Dana White has a complete star on his hands, who many have tipped to go on to become a pound-for-pound great in the UFC. Given the nature of his career-best performance at UFC 308, do not be surprised to see Chimaev’s next fight for the UFC Middleweight Title.

The best UK betting sites will undoubtedly list ‘Borz’ as a betting favourite for his next fight, regardless of who it is standing opposite him in the cage. Right now it would take someone extremely brave to back against Khamzat Chimaev from wiping out the entire 185-pound division.

Could Chimaev’s Next Fight Be For The UFC Middleweight Title?

After coming through the Robert Whittaker fight unscathed at UFC 308,  Khamzat Chimaev could well be in line for a title shot next. Given the emphatic nature of his performance against Whittaker, Chimaev will not be denied a shot at UFC gold in 2025.

Whittaker was ranked at #3 at 185-pounds, with just the champion Dricus Du Plessis, Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland above him. Now that the 30-year-old has defeated ‘Bobby Knuckles’ in style, he could well be next in line for a shot at Du Plessis next year.

If the UFC Title fight doesn’t come to fruition for Chimaev, there are of course other options too. A final eliminator bout against Strickland or Adesanya could be an option, as could a fight with someone like Jared Cannonier, Caio Borralho or Nassourdine Imamov.

However, these fights all seem rather unlikely now with a shot at UFC gold most definitely a possibility. Given how dominant he was against former champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308, Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight most definitely deserves to be for the 185-pound title.

The best UFC betting sites in the UK would likely favour Chimaev to defeat anyone in the middleweight division now. Time will tell what happens next for ‘Borz’, but he certainly isn’t too far away from the promised land. That is for sure.

Lets hope that Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight is indeed for the UFC Middleweight Title against Dricus Du Plessis.
