Khamzat Chimaev Record
Khamzat Chimaev turned professional back in 2018, just over six years ago. Since then, the 1994-born MMA star has had another 13 professional MMA fights, winning each and every one of them. Of his 14 MMA victories, eight of them have come in the UFC.
Chimaev’s career has been nothing short of perfect to date. The Russian mixed martial artist has risen to the task each and every time he has stepped up the levels, hence why he goes into each and every one of his fights as the favourite with the best UFC betting sites.
‘Borz’ is without a doubt one of the most skilful fighters from any division in the UFC, of that there is no question. His career up to now has been sensational, and he still has plenty big nights ahead of him. He is still a baby at 30-years-old and just eight fights into is UFC tenure. Chimaev could dominate for years to come.
As previously mentioned, Khamzat Chimaev made his professional MMA debut over six years ago now. He made the perfect start to his career by winning via knockout in the second round. ‘Borz’ then had five more fights as a pro MMA fighter, all via stoppage, before signing a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
The Khamzat Chimaev record was a perfect 6-0 prior to making his debut in the UFC, which he did in July 2020 against John Phillips. Chimaev came with a big reputation from his exploits in Brave and other MMA organisations, and he didn’t disappoint with a second round submission victory. This stellar debut performance also earned ‘Borz’ the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus.

Next up was Rhys McKee for the Russian star. Once again, Chimaev impressed with a first round knockout on the Robert Whittaker vs Darren Till undercard in Abu Dhabi. The crazy thing about that fight was that it came just 10 days after his UFC debut. This unsurprisingly remains the record for quickest turnaround between UFC wins in the modern era.
UFC President Dana White simply couldn’t ignore the talents of Chimaev, who fought for the third time in the UFC against Gerald Meerschaert on the Covington vs Woodley undercard. Once again, Khamzat put in a sensational display, winning via knockout in Round 1 on his middleweight debut.
A month later, Chimaev competed for the first time on a UFC pay-per-view. ‘Borz’ defeated Li Jingliang with a Round 1 submission victory at UFC 267, extending the Khamzat Chimaev record to a perfect 10-0 with four straight wins in the UFC.
Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight was a huge step up against former UFC Welterweight Title challenger Gilbert Burns. For the first time in his career, the 30-year-old saw the final bell, going the distance against the Brazilian. Although it went the distance, Chimaev won via unanimous decision to extend his record to 11-0.
The Russian MMA phenom moved to 12-0 next with a Round 2 submission victory over Kevin Holland at UFC 279. After missing the welterweight limit, the fight was at a 180pound catchweight. This saw the end of Chimaev’s time as a welterweight for good.

Two fights ago Chimaev the former long-reigning UFC welterweight title holder Kamaru Usman. Although not a vintage performance, the win eanred another mammoth clash with former 185-pound champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308.
Last time out was his most emphatic performance to date, of that there is no question. In what looked like a very losable fight on paper, Chimaev submitted Robert Whittaker in the very first round of their UFC 308 bout. Not only that, but he even shattered Whittaker’s jaw and displaced his bottom teeth. Quite emphatic.
Now with a record of 14-0, Khamzat Chimaev could become the biggest star in the middleweight division in the next 12 months. Some huge fights with the likes of Israel Adesanya, Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland could be on the cards next. He of course will demand a shot at UFC gold immediately.
He still has lots of questions to answer, but the 1994-born UFC star could go on to dominate at 185-pounds very soon. Don’t rule out a move to light-heavyweight in the future, perhaps after becoming UFC champion at middleweight fight. Time will tell whether that will be the case or not.
