Leon Edwards Next Fight - UFC

The Leon Edwards next fight is a hot topic of conversation, with the former 170-pound champion now confirmed to be fighting Sean Brady in a welterweight clash at UFC London in March.

Leon Edwards Next Fight: When Will The Former UFC Welterweight Champion Return?

Leon Edwards remains one of the biggest names in the UFC right now, despite losing his UFC Welterweight Title last year. ‘Rocky’ was the king of the 170-pound division for 16 months or so, winning three title fights before losing his belt to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in July 2024.

As well as being an elite fighter, Edwards is also one of the most followed UFC fighters in the world, with over one-million Instagram followers. He is also one of only two English UFC champions in history, alongside former middleweight king Michael Bisping.

Leon Edwards’ record is an impressive 22-5 (1 NC), which consists of seven knockout victories, three submissions and 12 decision wins. The 33-year-old is also widely regarded as one of the best welterweights in the world still, despite losing his last two fights back-to-back.

UFC fans last saw the English fighter in action at UFC London in March 2025, where he of course lost via Round 4 submission to Sean Brady. Now, for the Leon Edwards next fight, he will be looking to bounce straight back to winning ways following two damaging defeats.

Regarding Leon Edwards’ next fight, the former 170-pound champion is yet to have an opponent confirmed. His latest defeat to Sean Brady is still fresh, with ‘Rocky’ yet to make a decision on his career going forward.

UFC President Dana White will ultimately want Edwards to continue fighting inside the octagon. That being said, he has made millions and looks past his best now, so might even hang up his gloves once and for all.

Time will tell what happens in regards to Leon Edwards’ next fight, if and when he does get back in the cage.

Could Leon Edwards Fight Ian Machado Garry Next?

Regarding Leon Edwards’ next fight, it remains to be seen whether the former UFC Welterweight Champion returns to the octagon or if he rides off into the sunset and enjoys the fruits of his labour.

The likelihood is we will see ‘Rocky’ back in the UFC cage in the not so distant future. The Englishman may even fight before the end of the year, aiming to get back to winning ways before a big 2026.

The perfect fight to make for Leon Edwards’ next fight is a welterweight clash with Ian Garry. The Irishman lost for the first time in his MMA career last time out to Shavkat Rakhmonov, and himself will be looking to get back to winning ways in his next fight.

A clash between Edwards and Garry makes total sense next for both men. In terms of who a favourite would be in that clash, the best UFC betting sites in the UK would struggle to pick a winner. The fight seems a genuine 50/50 match-up at this stage of both their respective careers.

If Edwards were to lose a fight to Ian Garry, that would surely be his lot and retirement would then be on the horizon. However, if he was to beat the Irishman and get back in the win column, you couldn’t rule out one last climb to the welterweight summit in 2026.

If ‘Rocky’ doesn’t fight Garry next but does continue with his career, he does of course have other options. Jack Della Madallena, Joaquin Buckley, Gilbert Burns, Geoff Neal and Kevin Holland are just some of the other options Leon Edwards has for his next fight.
