Leon Edwards Net Worth

As a former UFC champion and one of the best fighters in the world, we have decided to take a deep dive into the career earnings and net worth of Leon Edwards. It’s fair to say that the 1991-born MMA superstar has made a fair bit of money in his career and won’t be worrying about his bank balance anytime soon!

According to MMA Salaries, Leon Edwards’ net worth is said to be around £2.5 million ($3m+) as of today. The Birmingham man has been on a rise in the UFC in recent years, topping that off by winning the UFC Welterweight Title at the first time of asking in the most emphatic fashion.

Edwards became only the second ever British UFC champion, after Michael Bisping won middleweight gold back in 2016. He then successfully defended his belt at UFC 286 in his home country of England, before making a second successful defence at UFC 296 to close out a phenomenal 2023.

Despite no longer being the king of the 170-pound division, Leon Edwards’ net worth has grown massively these past couple of years. This is proven by his lucrative career earnings and various endorsement deals too. More on that later.

The majority of the 33-year-old’s income comes from MMA and his incredible career in the UFC. Until recently, Edwards’ won’t have made the huge paycheques, but now, he is one of the biggest starts in the UFC and will continue to earn a fortune for the rest of his career.

Leon Edwards UFC Career Earnings

Leon Edwards has been a professional MMA fighter since he made his debut back in 2011 on the undercard of a Fight UK MMA: Fight UK 4 undercard in Leicester, England.

The 1991-born MMA fighter has seemingly earned far more money since signing for Dana White and the UFC, up until winning the UFC Welterweight Title in August 2023. For that fight, Edwards earned a reported $432,000. His base purse for that fight was $350,000 for that fight, but received a $50,000 performance bonus and $32,000 in sponsorship.

That was without a doubt the biggest purse of his MMA career, until the rematch with Usman of course. Edwards’ trilogy bout with Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 reportedly earned him around $1 million – over double his last purse.

The biggest purse of his career came against Colby Covington. As the A-side, the champion and the favourite with the best UFC betting sites in the UK, Edwards of course earned a huge purse. ‘Rocky’ reportedly took home $1,642,000 for his unanimous decision dominant display over ‘Chaos’.

With his long and successful career in the UFC, this means that Leon Edwards’ total career earnings inside the octagon equates to roughly $6.5 million (£5m). This is far lower than a lot of other fighters in the UFC such as Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jon Jones to name but a few.

Edwards will continue to earn millions of pounds as a UFC fighter going forward, with some potentially huge fights on the horizon for him in 2025 and beyond. He will have his sights set on winning the UFC Welterweight Title back, or perhaps even moving up to middleweight for some huge bouts.
