Bryan Mbeumo Transfer Boost Man Utd

Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have reportedly received a boost in the pursuit of transfer target Bryan Mbeumo.

The Red Devils have been pushing to sign the Brentford attacker for weeks now, but have not had a breakthrough.

Man Utd tabled a £55 million bid for Mbeumo earlier this month, but Brentford wanted a higher transfer fee.

Man Utd Get Surprising Boost in the Pursuit of Transfer Target Bryan Mbeumo Amid Second Bid

After finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, Man Utd are eager to bounce back in 2025/26. They are currently overseeing a summer overhaul, having signed Matheus Cunha, bidding for Bryan Mbeumo, and also eyeing a move for £85.5 million Club World Cup star Richard Rios.

Earlier in June, Man Utd submitted a £55 million proposal to Brentford for Mbeumo, but the Bees rejected it. Eager to wrap up the transfer, they have submitted an improved offer. According to the Manchester Evening News, the Mancunians have submitted an offer exceeding £60 million for Mbeumo.

Since Thomas Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur have also been pursuing Mbeumo, but Man Utd remain confident of signing him. The 25-year-old is also looking forward to moving to Old Trafford this summer.

Man Utd have also had help from a couple of sources this season. Man Utd’s Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana has reportedly nudged Mbeumo to move to Old Trafford. Additionally, one of Mbeumo’s close relatives is a big Manchester United fan. Their insistence has supposedly boosted United’s chances of signing the highly rated striker.

Bryan Mbeumo Would Be a Big Upgrade Over Current Manchester United Attackers

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo enjoyed the best Premier League campaign of his career in the 2024/25 season. Playing 38 games in the English top flight, he scored 20 goals and provided 7 assists. He also pulled off 52 dribbles and created 17 big chances. Only Mohamed Salah (29), Erling Haaland (23), and Alexander Isak (22) scored more than Mbeumo last season.

Man Utd attackers, meanwhile, had a season to forget. Captain Bruno Fernandes was the leading source of goals, scoring 8 times in 36 Premier League games. Amad Diallo also scored 8 times in 26 games, while Chelsea transfer target Alejandro Garnacho scored 6 in 36. Centre-forward Rasmus Hojlund bagged only 4 goals in 34 Premier League outings. Joshua Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna last summer, scored just thrice in 32 outings. Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho left the club on loan in the winter transfer window.

Mbeumo’s versatility allows him to play in multiple positions in attack. He could thrive as a centre-forward or assume a role on the right. One thing is for certain: Man Utd would become much more formidable with Mbeumo in the squad, at least on paper.
