Boca Juniors Youngster Milton Delgado

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Inter Milan have all been linked with an interest in Boca Juniors youngster Milton Delgado, a participant in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The 20-year-old midfielder has also drawn interest from Major League Soccer side Inter Miami and Portuguese outfit Benfica.

Man Utd, Chelsea, and Inter fans must keep their eyes peeled for Benfica’s Milton Delgado at the Club World Cup. Over the last few weeks, he has drawn interest from some of the biggest teams in the world, including Premier League and Serie A giants.

After coming through the youth teams, Delgado made his debut for Boca Juniors’ senior team in 2024. In 2024, he played in 17 games for Boca in all competitions, clocking over 540 minutes of football. According to the data from Transfermarkt, he played 13 matches in the 2024/25 season, claiming an assist. He played as a defensive midfielder in 12 and as a central midfielder in one.

Delgado currently represents Argentina’s U20 side. He has played seven games for La Albiceleste so far, scoring one goal.

His impressive performances for Boca Juniors and Argentina U20 have made him a transfer target, with as many as five clubs monitoring him.

Man Utd, Chelsea, Inter Keeping Tabs on Boca Juniors Midfielder Milton Delgado at FIFA Club World Cup

According to Argentine outlet El Crack Deportivo, European giants Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Man Utd are all keeping tabs on Milton Delgado. His performances at the Club World Cup could be key in this unfolding transfer saga. As per the aforementioned source, Milton’s current market valuation is around €5.5 million (£4.7 million).

Chelsea have expressed interest in him, but have yet to make a formal offer.

Inter Milan, with backing from vice-president Javier Zanetti, have also emerged as contenders for his services. Lastly, Manchester United, who are eyeing a summer rebuild, believe the midfielder can add value to their squad. The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha and are confident of signing Bryan Mbeumo despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Delgado is not the only player both Chelsea and Man Utd have targeted this summer. Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed they are both interested in Hugo Ekitike.

Boca Juniors are well aware of the growing interest in their midfielder, but coach Miguel Angel Russo wants him to stay for one more season. Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme, however, is not opposed to the idea of selling him to a European club. He is reportedly contemplating adding a beefy €20 million (£17.1 million) release clause in Delgado’s contract. An additional sell-on clause could also be baked in.

Delgado’s current deal with Boca Juniors runs until Dec 31, 2028.

The youngster has yet to make his Club World Cup debut. He was an unused substitute in Boca’s 2-2 draw with Benfica on Monday, June 16.
