A Eubank is making his ring return on Friday night just six days after losing to Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Chris Eubank Jr lost his rematch with Benn on Saturday night via unanimous decision, and just six days later his cousin Harlem is making his return in a welterweight contest.
Eubank Returns Just Six Days After Conor Benn Loss
A fighter with the surname Eubank is scheduled to fight in his hometown of Brighton on Friday night just six days after losing to Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, it isn’t Chris Eubank Jr.
Instead, Eubank Jr’s cousin Harlem Eubank is set to face Josh Wagner in a welterweight contest over 10 rounds at the Brighton Centre, live on Channel 5 on Friday, November 21.
Just six days after the Eubank’s suffered their first defeat at the hands of the Benn’s, they will return and aim to get their boxing family name back in the win column.
Many boxing fans felt the Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 rules were massively against ‘Next Gen’ on Saturday night, hence why the Benn family recorded their first ever victory over the Eubank’s at the fourth attempt.
Now, Harlem aims to bounce back from his first career defeat having lost to British rival Jack Catterall back in July. Eubank returns in a welterweight contest and is up against the 19-1 Canadian Wagner in the main event of a Wasserman Boxing show on Channel 5 TV on Friday night.
Eubank is expected to win relatively comfortably, but will have the added pressure of knowing his cousin Chris lost just six days prior.
Will Chris Eubank Jr Support Cousin Harlem Eubank On Friday Night?
With Harlem Eubank vs Josh Wagner taking centre-stage on Friday night in Brighton, boxing fans are wondering whether Chris Eubank Jr will be in attendance to support cousin.
After suffering a one-sided defeat at the hands of fierce rival Conor Benn, it is unlikely that ‘Next Gen’ will be in attendance at the Brighton Centre this Friday night to support his cousin Harlem.
Although Harlem has been seen on multiple occasions supporting his cousin Chris Jr at fights, it seems the favour won’t be replicated by the 36-year-old who will likely remain at home and away from the limelight for the next while.
During fight week in London, it was revealed that Chris Eubank Jr’s girlfriend will give birth to twin boys in the next few months, meaning that Eubank Jr will become a father for the very first time.
With a lot going on in his life right now outside of the sport of boxing, you can’t blame the former world title challenger for not attending his cousin Harlem Eubank’s next fight this weekend.
Will Chris Eubank Sr Attend Harlem Eubank’s Next Fight?
Chris Eubank Sr attended Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 this past weekend, this time comforting his eldest child after losing to his fierce rival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in one-sided fashion.
The first Eubank Jr vs Benn fight back in April was a classic, made even bigger by Eubank Sr’s incredible and shock entrance just hours before his son was set to do battle with ‘The Destroyer’.
Since then, their father and son relationship has healed and the pair look like they are finally back on terms after years of separation. For the past few years, Eubank Sr has still been supporting his nephew Harlem in his career.
The pair have done interviews together, with Sr regularly attending Harlem’s fights over the past few years. However, it seems unlikely that he will be in attendance for his next fight against Josh Wagner this weekend in Brighton.
There is still a chance the former two-weight world champion will be in attendance on Friday night for Harlem Eubank’s next fight, but this does seem like a fairly slim chance by all accounts.
