Despite winning the Europa League last season, it seems many Tottenham fans are still unhappy with Daniel Levy – with one particular supporter allegedly taking to X and joking about shooing their chairman.
However, this social media gag has since led to the fan getting into hot water by Spurs – with the North London club banning them for 3-4 years.
While in a bizarre twist – and totally unrelated to this fan getting a club ban – it’s also been reported that Daniel Levy as STEPPED DOWN as executive chairman of Spurs (more below).
Tottenham Fan’s Livid After Supporter Gets Club Ban For Daniel Levy Twitter Gag
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who has gained a reputation for watching the purse strings at the Premier League club, has been the subject of much abuse over the years.
After all, Levy has been on the Tottenham board since 2000 – so with 25 years of history it’s only natural their football fans of the club will get frustrated at times.
Especially with Spurs pitching themselves as one of the ‘big six’ English clubs – but their trophy return says otherwise.
Yes, winning the Europa League in 2024/25 has been a welcome celebration for the North London side – their first major trophy in 17 years, since winning the 2008 League Cup.
This resulted in Champions League football this season and Tottenham are 40/1 with football betting sites to win the competition.
But despite this recent success, many Tottenham fans are still unhappy with the club’s hierarchy – notably one fan who reportedly took to X (Twitter) to joke about shooting their chairman.
However, little did this fan know that this joke would backfire and lead the club to banning him for 3-4 years.
This has led to many Lilywhites leaping to this fan’s defence – saying it was a “pathetic move from the club”.
Can’t believe Spurs have banned one of our supporters for 3-4 years because of this joke they made about Levy on here, personally I thought it was quite funny when I read it at the time, absolutely pathetic move from the club! 🤬 pic.twitter.com/kOQ1YGE2OR

Tottenham stated they were aware of an offensive and unacceptable post that was published on X.
And in line with their published Sanctions and Banning Policy, the Club reserves the right to take action against individuals using threatening or abusive language towards staff.
As a result, it was also claimed that Tottenham went onto tell their fan they will be banned by the club for 3-4 years.
Banned Tottenham Fan Releases A Statement Of His Own
At this stage, known only as ‘David’ – the banned Tottenham fan in question also responded to his club ban – issuing a statement of his own.
Starting by saying that some people might be aware of a post circulating on social media about a fan being banned for a post about Daniel Levy on X – well “I’m the fan”, he said (see below).

He held his hands up – saying he was the ‘fan in question’ and also posted a screenshot of the email he received from Tottenham (see below).
David also said even though he disagrees with the club’s decision and feels it’s ‘extremely’ harsh – that he also takes full responsibility for his actions and deeply regrets the post.
He ended by saying Tottenham will also be his club – banned or not – and will continue to love and support them until the end.
The final parting-shot from David, who might now be shopping for a disguise, was to also say that a further statement will be made on Friday at 9:30am (5th September) and no other posts will be made until that time.
With the International break, there are no Premier League games until next week (13th-14th Sept). With Tottenham’s next match away at West Ham on Saturday 13th September in the 5:30pm offering.
Daniel Levy Steps Down As Tottenham Chairman After 25 Years, In Unrelated Twist
Hot on the heels of this Tottenham fan getting a club ban for his tweet directed at Daniel Levy – came the news that the chairman himself has decided to step down from his role at the club.
The two situations are totally unrelated and the tweet isn’t thought to be linked or the reason behind Daniel Levy leaving Tottenham.
Levy was often the target of fan frustration – with his tough stance on signing new players – but despite the limited number of trophies in his time at the club – has taken Tottenham to a new stadium and delivered a state-of-the-art training ground.
However, it seems Levy has called time on this time at Spurs – deciding to step down as executive chairman with immediate effect.
Prior to leaving, Levy had been the longest serving Premier League chairman – since he took over his stake from Lord Alan Sugar in 2000.
On his departure Levy said.
“I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level.
“More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.
“I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn’t always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.”
