Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident of signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United this summer. His contract with West Ham runs until June 30, 2028.
Interestingly, Spurs believe they would not have to meet Kudus’ lofty £85 million clause to secure the move. The release clause is valid only for the first 10 days of July.
Tottenham are not the only Premier League side eyeing a move for Kudus this summer. Chelsea and Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on the player.
Tottenham Hotspur Confident of Signing Mohammed Kudus for Less Than £85 Million
After finishing 17th in the Premier League last summer, Ange Postecoglou lost his job at Tottenham Hotspur. Thomas Frank has since taken his place, and the former Brentford boss does not want to suffer the same fate as the Aussie. Spurs are eyeing a summer overhaul and have been linked with multiple top-rated players in the Premier League.
After registering interest in Eberechi Eze and Tottenham are now monitoring highly rated West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus. The Ghana international has a massive £85 million, making him unattainable for most teams. However, according to The Telegraph, Tottenham are confident of signing him for well below asking.

Additionally, a report by TBR Football claims that Spurs chiefs Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici greatly admire Kudus. Levy reportedly believes Frank could bring out the best in the 24-year-old. Spurs have reportedly held advanced talks to get the deal done. As per TBR’s estimates, the 2024/25 Europa League winners could have to pay around £60 million for the player.
It is to be noted that Kudus recently changed agents, agreeing to appoint ROOF (Representatives Of Outstanding Footballers) as his representative. ROOF famously brokered Kai Havertz’s switch from Chelsea to Arsenal. There is a possibility that Kudus signed with them in order to join a bigger club and take the next step in his career.
West Ham United Could Accept Tottenham’s Offer for Mohammed Kudus
Like Tottenham, West Ham United also had a season to forget. They finished 14th in the Premier League and failed to thrive in any of the cup competitions. The Hammers are planning to reinforce their squad in the summer, but they need to raise funds to avoid breaching the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability regulations.

Kudus is one of West Ham’s best players, so they do not necessarily want to sell him. However, if Tottenham were to table a lucrative enough offer, they would not stand in the player’s way. As per The Guardian, a £60 million bid could be enough to get the deal done by July 10.
Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax for a €43 million (£36.8 million) fee in the summer of 2023. The versatile forward, who can play on either wing as well as down the middle, has made 80 appearances. He has scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists.
