Tottenham are reportedly willing to sell club captain Heung-min Son after returning from their pre-season tour of South Korea. Tottenham Willing To Sell Heung-min Son According to The Times, Tottenham are willing to part ways with Heung-min Son this summer. The 32-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his contract in North London, has been the subject of renewed transfer interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, as well as from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce. It is highly unlikely that Spurs will let him leave before their pre-season tour of South Korea, however. This is due to the fact that the club are commercially contracted to play the forward in a friendly against Newcastle on 3 August. Additionally, Son is worshipped in his homeland, making his attendance crucial to the commercial appeal of the tour. He is also set to be involved in a number of agreed activities while away. It would likely take an offer significantly higher than his market value for the club to consider selling before pre-season. Tottenham’s visit to South Korea will be their fifth tour of the nation in the last 10 years. Alongside their fixture against Newcastle, they will hold an open training session on 2 August at the Goyang Stadium. Son previously rebuffed approaches from Saudi Arabia in favour of staying at Tottenham, but having refused to pen a new long-term deal, it is believed that he is more open to leaving the club this summer. The former Bayer Leverkusen star rejected an approach from current Saudi champions Al-Ittihad in 2023. They were willing to pay Spurs £55m to complete the transfer and offered Son a four-year deal worth £25m. Instead, the North Londoners exercised an option to extend his contract until the summer of 2026. But now, he could well be on his way out, with Spurs looking to cash in before losing him on a free transfer next summer. Thomas Frank Eyeing Attacking Reinforcements Newly appointed Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is reportedly looking to sign attacking reinforcements. He is set to report to the Enfield training ground later this week. The club have already made Mathys Tel’s loan move from Bayern Munich permanent, while it is also reported that Frank is looking to bring Bryan Mbeumo with him from Brentford. Despite Spurs’ interest, Manchester United remain confident of signing Mbeumo this summer. The reigning Europa League winners have also been linked with the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Jack Grealish, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Tyler Dibling, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and many more. Tottenham are yet to receive a formal offer for Son, but it remains to be seen if he fits into Frank’s plans for next season. Heung-min Son To Depart As Tottenham Legend If Son does indeed depart for pastures new after their tour of Asia, he leaves the club as a true legend. His exit would undoubtedly be a blow given his standing at the club, having been a key figure since his arrival in 2015 with an incredible 173 goals in 454 appearances across all competitions. He also played a key role in the Spurs’ Europa League triumph last term, captaining his side to glory. It sealed his status as a club legend, if it hadn’t already been secured, as they lifted their first trophy in over 17 years. Son ended the 2024-25 campaign with a total of 11 goals and 12 assists in 46 matches across all competitions.
