The Cincinnati Bengals came tantalizingly close to lifting up the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history before falling to the Los Angeles Rams with a 23-20 final score in the Super Bowl. Now, the 2022 NFL schedule offers a franchise ascending to a dizzying peak a shot at redemption and further growth.

What will Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase do as an encore? The quarterback asserted himself as one of the premier options at the position during his sophomore season, and the wide receiver shined throughout his rookie year to the tune of 81 catches for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Joe Mixon, Tee Higgins, and Hayden Hurst are in place to make the Bengals’ aerial attack even deadlier, and that’s saying nothing of the improvements made throughout the offensive line by signing La’el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras. Plus, the defense should improve from last year’s mediocre level through free-agent additions and a draft class centered around that end of the ball.

Excitement should justifiably be running rampant throughout the streets of Cincinnati.
