Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Ed Giacomin of Sudbury, Ontario (pictured third on the left) passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday. Giacomin was a goaltender for the New York Rangers from 1965 to 1975, and then played three additional seasons with the Detroit Red Wings from 1975 to 1977. In 610 games, he had 290 wins, 209 losses, and 96 ties with a goals against average of 3.14 and a save percentage of .893.
Like Ken Dryden who also recently passed away, Giacomin only played with Original Six franchises, and retired one season before Dryden finished in his career. Here is the reaction from X.

Giacomin played three seasons with the Red Wings. He had a record of 23 wins, 37 losses, seven ties with five shutouts, a goals against average of 3.47 and a save percentage of .883.
