The Milwaukee Bucks, ranked third in the Eastern Conference, scored a clear victory over the Philadelphia Sixers (119-98) on Sunday in the NBA regular season.

Milwaukee pulls away in first quarter

Milwaukee, champions in 2021, made the difference in the first quarter after outscoring the 76ers 34-21, who were once again playing without Joel Embiid, their star player with a left knee injury. The Bucks then maintained a healthy lead over their opponents. Philadelphia were at best 12 points behind.

Giannis Antetokounmpo held his place as Bucks leader, scoring 30 points (10/17 on the shoot, including 1/2 three-pointers), plus 12 rebounds and nine assists. He was also well supported by Damian Lillard (24 pts) and Malik Beasley (20). Bobby Portis scored 17 points in 19 minutes.

In the Philadelphia 76ers ranks, Tyrese Maxey was the most effective with 24 points. Since Joel Embiid’s injury, the Pennsylvania franchise has won just four of its 12 games.

The game also marked the return of Milwaukee coach Doc Rivers to Philadelphia, where he coached from 2020 and 2023 and was fired last year. He was greeted by boos from Sixers fans. In three seasons, Rivers had never done better than a conference semifinalist.
