Buckle up, Dak Prescott.

The pressure is on to capitalize on the 2022 NFL schedule and get the Dallas Cowboys deep into the postseason. Come up short of that lengthy run through the playoffs, and all of a sudden, the dial gets turned up to 11 given the enormity of the quarterback’s contract and the talent placed around him.

Dallas went 12-5 and won the NFC East during the 2021 campaign, but does that really matter to fans in the Lone Star State when the regular-season success was followed by a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round?

That wasn’t a rhetorical question. It’s a safe assumption that it doesn’t because the Cowboys still have championship aspirations year in and year out.

Prescott has the Ezekiel Elliott-Tony Pollard combo in the backfield with CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, James Washington, and Dalton Schultz as primary receiving options, so he won’t receive much leeway if he falls shy of the MVP-caliber numbers he’s produced in the past.
