After a bounce-back 2024 season, Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones is set to become a free agent. Will the veteran sign with another team in free agency? View the next team odds for Aaron Jones below.

Aaron Jones Coming Off A Career Year

After spending seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Jones signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Vikings last offseason.

Jones took the opportunity to be the lead back and ran with it, tallying career highs in rushing yards (1,138) and carries (255). Jones added five rushing touchdowns to his stat sheet.

The 30-year-old also showcased his versatility, catching 51 balls for 408 yards and two touchdowns.

Jones is on the record wanting to end his career in Minnesota.

Do the Vikings feel the same way? That has yet to be seen.

On February 15, the Vikings and Jones agreed to push the void date of his contract to March 11, one day before free agency begins.

Pushing the date to March 11 gives the Vikings more time to negotiate with Jones and agree to terms on an extension.

If a contract voids, the Vikings will be hit with a dead cap hit of $3.2 million.

Jones might be on the wrong side of 30, but last season proved he could still be a starting running back for at least one more season.

No team has been linked to more running backs this offseason than the Dallas Cowboys (+250), who currently have the best odds to land Jones.

Dallas punted on running back in 2024 after Tony Pollard signed with the Titans.

Rico Dowdle led the Cowboys with 1,079 rushing yards in 2024. However, Dallas ranked in the bottom six for rushing yards per game (100.3).

Jones would give the Cowboys a legitimate threat out of the backfield. Will owner Jerry Jones turn down another talented 30-year-old running back like he did last offseason with Derrick Henry?

The Pittsburgh Steelers (+300) have also been linked to Jones, with Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren set to be free agents.

The Steelers need more versatile players on offense, and Jones fits that need.
