Floyd Mayweather had made tons of money during a perfect boxing career that wound up with a 50-0 record. His pay-per-view take-ins helped make him the wealthiest boxer of all time. He’s got the money, so why not spend it? When it comes to spending his hard-earned money, Mayweather is also right at the top and he’s not shy about flaunting some of his expensive purchases.

Floyd Mayweather has raked in more than $1 billion during his boxing career. Much of that money came as a result of the pay-per-view take-ins he’s had throughout his career. Business Insider states that Mayweather is involved in four of the top five highest-grossing fights ever, including the top two.

Mayweather’s top-grossing fight was against Manny Pacquiao. That fight generated 4.6 million PPV buys and made better than $400 million. His bout with Conor McGregor was a close second with 4.3 million PPV buys and made $370 million. People wanted to see Mayweather fight and he took advantage of it and it paid off handsomely.

Mayweather, who also owns a boxing promotional firm, was unbeaten in 50 fights as a pro. ESPN named Mayweather the best pound-for-pound fighter in the last 25 years. In the article, ESPN says “Mayweather had no peer defensively and is perhaps the greatest defensive fighter in history.” He was also named Fighter of the Decade (2010) by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Floyd Mayweather not shy about spending his money

Just like he does when he’s in the boxing ring, Floyd Mayweather doesn’t like to mess around when he’s outside of it. He dresses in the most expensive clothes, he drives the most expensive cars, and he flies in his private G4 jet that, according to worthly.com, cost him more than $40 million.

In 2007, he also appeared to be a prophet, stating that he was going to be a billionaire. “In between five and 10 years, I will be a billionaire, and then I want to be the first African-American to have a casino,” he said in an ESPN article. “I want to be the 60 percent owner of a casino on Las Vegas Boulevard. That ain’t a dream. That’s going to be a fact.”

In that same ESPN article, Mayweather said money doesn’t define him. He would be the same person he is now even if he didn’t have all his wealth. “I’m loyal and honest, and I’m a good person,” he said in 2015. “I call a spade a spade. Money doesn’t make me; I make money. Without money, I’d be the same person.”

Mayweather’s $18M watch beefed up his $6.4M watch collection

Floyd Mayweather has money to burn. While he’s not actually burning it, he had no problem spending it. Mayweather has a pretty expensive car collection to go along with his very expensive shoe collection and his now extremely expensive watch collection.

Mayweather, in 2018, made yet another extravagant purchase that he flaunted on Instagram. According to Forbes, the piece was a Jacob & Co.’s $18 million Billionaire diamond tourbillon watch. The Billionaire is set with 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds. Forbes says the entire 18-karat white gold case and bracelet of the watch is diamond-set with stones that weigh as much as three carats each.

I guess when you can make roughly $300 million in one night as he did in his fight with Conor McGregor, spending $18 million on a watch doesn’t seem quite that crazy.
