Floyd Mayweather is reportedly coming out of retirement.

Is this some sort of April Fools joke in September? Rumors are swirling that the Floyd Mayweather will be pulling a Mike Tyson and coming out of retirement to step in the boxing ring again. Social media has been in a frenzy regarding the possibility of an exhibition bout between Mayweather and YouTuber Logan Paul. Is it all talk, or will it be taking place?

Mike Tyson set to make his comeback in November

Mike Tyson is ready to make his boxing comeback. The 54-year-old former heavyweight champ was initially supposed to face off against 51-year-old Roy Jones Jr. this month. Promoters, however, pushed the fight back to Nov. 28 in order to draw a bigger crowd over Thanksgiving Day weekend.

Tyson has said he’s going all-out during this exhibition match. Jones said he’ll honor his commitment, but has expressed some reservations about stepping into the ring with a hungry Tyson. “When it comes time to fight, we’re going to fight,” Jones said, according to Yahoo! Sports. “If it comes down to bite, we’re going to bite. Whatever has to happen is going to happen. That’s just what it is. He’s still Mike Tyson. He’s still one of the strongest, most explosive people who ever touched a boxing ring. If anything, I made a mistake going in with him. He’s the bigger guy. He’s the explosive guy.”

Tyson will be taking aim at Jones, who is roughly 40 pounds lighter. He won’t hold anything back. “We’re throwing punches at each other. This is going to be my definition of fun … broken eye sockets, broken jaw, broken rib. That’s fun to me,” Tyson said.

Floyd Mayweather rumored to be on the comeback trail

News broke of a possible Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul fight last night, creating a buzz throughout social media. Mayweather, whose boxing career ended with him boasting a 50-0 record, is always looking for a payday. Pat McAfee said this billing is classic Floyd Mayweather.

“This guy, Floyd Mayweather, he signed an exhibition match in Japan on New Year’s Eve,” McAfee said on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday night, “and he went in there and just beat a billionaire’s son to death. The guy actually cried in the ring. Floyd Mayweather had an actual boxing match against a man who has never had an actual boxing match before. It made over $150 million in doing so.

“Floyd Mayweather will now, somehow, exhibition box against a man who’s double his size in Logan Paul, who has been working out and is in great shape. He was a high school wrestler in Ohio. But this is going to be the same story, I’d assume, as every other fight against Floyd Mayweather. You can train all you want. Your cardio will never be able to keep up with him and your hands will never be as fast as him. You won’t be able to hit him and you will lose.”

Nothing official on Mayweather’s comeback

While the hype for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul fight is there, there doesn’t appear to be anything set in stone. TMZ has said Mayweather has been approached for the fight but neither he nor Paul has signed a deal yet.

TMZ caught up with Logan Paul at LAX and asked him about a potential fight with Mayweather. Paul simply said, “You know I can’t say s–t right now.”

For now, Paul is scheduled to take on former NBA player Nate Robinson in the undercard of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. fight. While nothing is set on the Mayweather vs. Paul bout, rest assured there will be a lot of hype about it.
