Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, And McCartney Kessler In WTA Tournament Finals Sunday

If you need any more evidence that American women’s tennis is bursting with talent amid big results in 2025, consider the Sunday WTA finals participants. Jessica Pegula, Adelaide finalist vs. McCartney Kessler, Hobart champion will meet for the first time in the Austin Open final; Emma Navarro is in the Merida Open final; and McCartney Kessler, trying to pull off two titles in one day, will also compete in the doubles final in Austin.
Along with Kessler’s Hobart win, Coco Gauff led the US to a United Cup win, Madison Keys won Adelaide and the Australian Open, Amanda Anisimova won Doha, and Taylor Townsend won women’s doubles (with Katerina Siniakova) at the Australian Open and Dubai. Pegula (Adelaide) and Ashlyn Krueger (Abu Dhabi Open) also made impressive runs into WTA tournament finals.
One American champion is a slam dunk on Sunday, whether it is Pegula or Kessler. Kessler is going for her second Top 5 big win this year after defeating Coco Gauff in Dubai. Will Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughy be in attendance again?

The American women have historically been good on the hardcourts, but this is even better than normal with a diverse group of champions collecting big wins.
Can the winning continue at the Sunshine Double? On American soil, US champions at Indian Wells and Miami would ratchet up the excitement and fandom for US women’s tennisv with the potential of more American women storming into the Top 10. There are three right now. Coco Gauff is No. 3, Madison Keys is No. 4, and Jessica Pegula is No. 5.
