Caroline Garcia and Leylah Fernandez are dealing with love off-the-court in different ways this weekend.

Garcia, who received a hero’s sendoff at the French Open after losing in the first round against Bernardo Pera, is a newlywed. She was married on Saturday in France. Caroline Garcia is not yet officially retired and plans to play unspecified tournaments throughout the end of the year before formally ending her playing career.

The 31-year-old former World No. 4 has won 11 WTA singles titles and is a two-time French Open women’s doubles champion. She also won the 2022 WTA Finals.
Garcia has used her voice in recent years to discuss the mental toll of professional tennis on its players because of the grind of the schedule and the responses on social media. Last year, she started the Tennis Insiders podcast with now husband Borja Duran.
Leylah Fernandez
22-year-old Montreal native and 2021 US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez is taking a bold approach to finding love off the court. Fernandez is a former World No. 13 with three WTA titles.

She went on Instagram and stated that she wants to go on a date during the upcoming Canadian Open. Fernandez invited potential suitors to DM her and warned that they will likely need to meet her dad beforehand.
Love is found in unconventional ways these days so perhaps it will work. After all, former Spanish player Garbine Muguruza met her now husband by accident while walking the streets at the US Open.
