The Philadelphia Eagles have been the most impressive team in the NFL all season. At 11-1 through 12 games, the Eagles have the best record in the league and are on pace to finish with the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the first time in five years.

This is one of the best Eagles teams in franchise history, but is it the best?

What is the Eagles’ franchise record for wins in a season, and will this group surpass that total?

What is the Eagles’ franchise record for wins in a season?

The Eagles have been one of the most consistent franchises in the NFL this century. Only five teams — the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, and Baltimore Ravens — have more regular-season wins than the Eagles since 2000. Philadelphia’s 14 playoff appearances are also the fourth-most in the league over that span.

Including this year, the Eagles have won double-digit games 12 times since 2000. They’ve done so 25 total times since making their NFL debut in 1933.

The Eagles’ franchise record for wins in a season is 13. Philadelphia went 13-3 in 2017 en route to its first Super Bowl title, and it also went 13-3 in 2004 before losing in the Super Bowl to the Patriots. The Eagles have gone 12-4 three times in franchise history, most recently in 2003.

Will the 2022 Eagles break the franchise record for wins in a season?

The 2022 Eagles could go down as the greatest regular-season team in franchise history, and they’re not far away from stamping that as their legacy. At 11-1 through 13 weeks, Philadelphia only needs 3 wins in its final five games to break the franchise record for wins in a season.

This Sunday, the Eagles are favored by seven points on the road against the New York Giants. They’ll travel west next week and should be close to a double-digit favorite on the road against the Chicago Bears. On Christmas Eve, the Eagles will most likely be underdogs against the Dallas Cowboys. They’ll close the season at home with games against the New Orleans Saints and the Giants, and they should be hefty favorites in both games.

As long as the Eagles don’t rest their starters down the stretch, they should have no problem breaking the franchise record of 13 wins.
