The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Just Sealed Their Super Bowl Fate for $2.5 Million
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already had a Super Bowl-caliber roster, but the addition of star wide receiver Antonio Brown puts them over the top.
Brown will join an offense already stocked with two Pro Bowl wide receivers and a Hall-of-Fame tight end. Oh, and the guy throwing the ball to them? Only the greatest quarterback to ever live — Tom Brady. With Brown now in the fold, the Buccaneers should be the favorite to emerge from the NFC this season, and it’s only going to cost them up to $2.5 million.

Through six weeks of the 2020 NFL season, the name Antonio Brown wasn’t being thrown around a ton. The longtime Pittsburgh Steeler hasn’t played in the NFL in over a year, and it seemed as if no team wanted to stir up their locker room by adding Brown to the roster.
But as his eight-game suspension neared an ending, the Brown sweepstakes started to heat up. A few teams popped up as possible suitors for the Pro Bowl wideout in the last week, but Brown clearly had a preference.
Brown played one game with Tom Brady last year with the New England Patriots, and the two hit it off like soul mates on a first date. The duo connected for four completions and a touchdown in their only game together.
Ever since Brady joined the Bucs in the offseason, he’s been pushing for the team to bring Brown on board. On Friday, his wish came true.

When the news broke of Brown joining the Buccaneers, the terms of his contract weren’t yet finalized. Two days later, though, Tampa Bay announced his one-year deal, and it’s a steal for the team.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Sunday that Brown’s deal with the Buccaneers is worth up to $2.5 million. Brown will earn $1 million in base salary and roster bonuses, and he can earn up to $1.5 million through various bonuses.
If the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl this season, Brown will earn a $750,000 bonus. That’s great news for him, as Tampa Bay is now one of the prohibitive favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in February.

Tampa Bay is going all-out for a Super Bowl victory in 2020, and the Brown signing just solidified their championship roster. The Buccaneers now have three Pro Bowl wide receivers on offense to pair with Rob Gronkowski and Brady. Brown immediately makes the Bucs one of, if not the best, offenses in the entire NFL.
Combine that with a stifling defense that has shut down opposing offenses this season and you have your team to beat in the NFC. The Buccaneers currently have the sixth-best odds to win the Super Bowl this year at 12/1. If Brown plays like his old self when he finally hits the field in Week 9, that number is sure to drop.
Tampa Bay hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 2003, but they have a real chance to add another Lombardi to the trophy case this season with their revamped offense.
