There have been several big-time NBA free agent moves already and the free agency period has just gotten underway.

With a lot of the big names already choosing their destinations and a new contender in the Eastern Conference to face off against the Toronto Raptors, we will look at the underrated free agent deals that we should expect over the next couple of days.

Here’s our list of the best players still available during the 2019 NBA free agency period.

Rajon Rondo

  • 9.2 PPG
  • 8.0 APG

Although he can be viewed as temperamental, Rajon Rondo is still one of the most underrated point guards in the league.

He recently spoke out about the turmoil in his sole season with the Lakers but can be a valuable commodity to any franchise. Rondo can score if needed and is still one of the best distributors in the NBA.

He averaged nine points and eight assists per game this season for Los Angeles.

Iman Shumpert

  • 7.5 PPG
  • 3.0 RPG

Although he is losing some of his athleticism, Shumpert is still a good defender and could play a pivotal role on a playoff caliber team.

He has bounced around with multiple stops over the last two seasons, but if given the opportunity you could look at a player that can put up 8 to 10 points per game while shutting down the teams third or fourth option.

Jabari Parker

  • 14.5 PPG
  • 6.6 RPG

Parker is a scorer that could provide a spark off the bench with a capable second unit. We don’t think he is worthy of a starting spot because of his lack of effort on defense, but if a team has a need for a player to put up 15 to 18 points per game, in a role similar to Lou Williams, you can’t go wrong with the underrated free agent Parker.

DeMarcus Cousins

  • 16.3 PPG
  • 8.2 RPG

With the Golden State Warriors executing a sign-and-trade deal for D’Angelo Russell, they will have to shed cap space to finish out their roster. DeMarcus Cousins isn’t expected to be on the team next season. A team with a glaring hole at the center position could pick up the former All-Star at the mid-level exception.

He can still be a 20 and 10 caliber player if given the opportunity. Any team that signs Cousins could be getting one of the best free agent pickups of the off-season.

Thabo Sefolosha

  • 3.8 PPG
  • 2.5 RPG

Although he is nearing the end of his career, Sefolosha is still a very good perimeter defender. He can even make a bucket or two if needed.

One team that would be smart to pick him up would be the Sacramento Kings, as they have a lot of offensive firepower but few players who can shut things down for opponents on the defensive end of the floor.

If he doesn’t go to Sacramento, a team such as Milwaukee could pick him up. His former head coach Mike Budenholzer is always looking for perimeter defenders to help league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Emmanuel Mudiay

  • 14.8 PPG
  • 3.9 APG

The final player on our list has bounced around between a few teams during his career. Coming into last season Mudiay was going to be a focal point of the New York Knicks offense along with Kristaps Porzingis.

He put up almost 15 points per game on a poor Knicks squad. He can score, attack the basket, and a team in need of a combo guard could surely pick him up in the range of $12-15 million.
