67 year-old Bernhard Langer created more golfing history at the weekend – by winning on the PGA Tour for the 18th straight year after landing the Charles Schwab Cup Championships.

German Golf Legend Bernard Langer Leaves It Late – But Wins On The PGA Tour For 18th Consecutive Year

Two-time US Masters winner Bernard Langer was in the winners’ enclosure on the PGA Tour yet again at the weekend after winning the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup Championships at the Phoenix Country Club in dramatic fashion.

Meaning he’s now won an event on the PGA Tour each year for the last 18 seasons. But he only just got over the line.

Crowds witnessed Langer hole an incredible 30-foot birdie putt on the last hole to see off the New Zealand duo of Richard Green and Steven Alker by a shot.

Langer posted a -5 round on the final day and an overall score of -18, which was good enough to see the 67 year-old win on the PGA Tour for an 18th straight year.

Plus, with the Charles Schwab Cup Championships the season ending event, meaning Langer left it late in 2024 to keep this remarkable run golf going.

Despite his loss in this event Steven Alker still won the season points total and, in the process, scooped the $1m bonus.

Bernard Langer Takes Career Tally To 47 Wins

Langer said after his win “It’s unbelievable, I can’t describe it. To win this big tournament after what I’ve been through and to make it 18 years in a row out here.”

The Charles Schwab Cup win was also Langer’s 47 overall career win and came only eight month after the German golfer ripped his left Achilles when playing pickleball.

In the process Langer also extended his record as the tour’s oldest winner.

Langer added. “I had one of the best putting weeks of my life. Greenkeeping staff, I owe you one, well done, great job.”
