Controversial boxer Ryan Garcia has confirmed he will return to the ring in May against Isaac Cruz, before a potential rematch with Devin Haney at the back end of the year.
Ryan Garcia Confirms Next Fight Will Be Against Isaac Cruz In May
Rumours of a Ryan Garcia vs Isaac Cruz fight have been gathering momentum of late, with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh all but confirming that the fight will take place in May, but not in Saudi Arabia.
Ryan Garcia’s next fight has been a hot topic of conversation ever since the Devin Haney victory back in April. That win has of course been changed to a ‘no contest’, due to ‘King Ry’ failing a performance enhancing drugs test.
Garcia has maintained his innocence throughout, but is currently serving a one-year backdated ban. This means he is free to fight again in a few moths time, hence why his ring return has been rumoured for May.
It seems the 26-year-old will indeed return to the ring in a few months time, with former world super-lightweight champion Isaac Cruz the opponent. This fight is certainly a credible one for Garcia’s return, that is for sure.

If the Ryan Garcia vs Isaac Cruz fight goes ahead, it will be a battle of two fighters who both lost to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis previously. With Garcia seemingly missing weight last time out against Haney, the fight has also been rumoured to be a few pounds above the super-lightweight limit.
A 144-pound catchweight contest between ‘King Ry’ and ‘Pitbull’ is being talked about for May in New York. For now there has been no official announcement, but it seems the fight is close to being signed, sealed and delivered.
Garcia all but confirmed that he would be fighting Cruz in May (see below Twitter/X video) on his ring return, with boxing fans excited to tune in and watch Garcia again. Ryan Garcia vs Isaac Cruz is a great fight and one that whets the appetite of fans.

Ryan Garcia All But Confirms His Next Fight Will Be Against Isaac Cruz In May
Although yet unconfirmed, speculation is rife as to who Ryan Garcia’s next fight will be against. As previously alluded to, it seems that he will face Isaac Cruz in a 144-pound catchweight contest in New York City in May.
This will be Garcia’s first fight back since the Haney bout – a fight he originally won before it being overturned to a ‘no contest’. Now, boxing fans are already looking forward to seeing the 26-year-old back in action in just a few months time.
The American himself took to X (formerly Twitter) last week, stating that he would be getting in the ring with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz next. Garcia wrote: “I’m bringing an explosive fight in my fight comeback. Pitbull has always been considered a tough opponent. Tougher match up then Haney tbh.”

Should the fight go ahead, Ryan Garcia would go in as the favourite with the best UK boxing betting sites to defeat Isaac Cruz. ‘King Ry’ looked tremendous against Haney, albeit possibly under the influence of PEDs, but he will highly favoured to beat ‘Pitbull’ in their proposed match-up.
Stay tuned for an official announcement in due course. Whether that be from His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Oscar De La Hoya or somebody else. The fight is being rumoured for May in New York, with it being a potential Ring Magazine event too.
