The latest Tyrone Mings injury update has revealed the defender isn’t expected to spend too long on the sidelines.
Mings took to Instagram on Sunday night and posted a story which will have come as a huge relief to everybody connected to Aston Villa.
The defender said: “I’ve had some serious knee injuries, this isn’t one of them. Thank you for all of your messages.”
Mings had to be substituted in the first-half of the 1-1 Premier League draw against West Ham. Initially, it appeared that the 31-year-old had endured another serious problem.
The Villa Park faithful feared the worst when Mings hobbled off the pitch in the 38th minute. He was seen covering his face with his shirt and looked visibly distraught.
However, the player himself has reassured supporters there is nothing to fear. On the opening day of the 2023/24 season, Mings ruptured his ACL in the 5-1 loss to Newcastle. Subsequently missing over 12 months of action.

Tyrone Mings Injury Update Bodes Well For Aston Villa
Speaking after the 1-1 draw with West Ham on Sunday afternoon, manager Unai Emery provided a Tyrone Mings injury update.
“After the first test we did, I think it is not a relevant injury for a long time,” the Spaniard explained. “Tomorrow we will test again and better. We will know how important his injury is. We are positive.”
Naturally, the news provided by the player himself and Emery will ease the nerves of loyal supporters. Especially at a pivotal point of the 2024/25 season.
After the game, a football injury expert shared a very similar update regarding Mings’ issue. Posting on X under the handle @physioscout, they explained the recovery time should be approximately two weeks at worst.
“High-velocity blow to the left knee brings concern for just a bone bruise/contusion injury. Slight concern for a minor MCL sprain, but that’s about it. Recovery time: If bone bruise/contusion: Less than a week If minor MCL sprain: 1-2 weeks.”
