Chelsea and France defender Axel Disasi has agreed on personal terms to join Aston Villa before the end of the January transfer window, with the deal now hinging on an agreement being struck between both clubs.

Football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa ahead of a potential move before the end of the January transfer window.
Romano claims that, despite there being interest from several other European clubs, namely Wolves, AC Milan and Napoli, Disasi has decided to join the Villans after making direct contact with Unai Emery.
“Axel Disasi has agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa,” the Italian wrote on his social channels.
“Disasi wants to join Villa despite interest from more clubs around Europe after direct talk with Unai Emery, crucial to get the green light.
“Deal now up to Chelsea and Villa to reach full agreement.”

Disasi joined Chelsea from AS Monaco for a reported £38.5m in the summer of 2023, and after featuring regularly under Mauricio Pochettino last term, he has fallen out-of-favour under Enzo Maresca.
He has made 17 appearances for the Blues across all competitions this season, however just six of those have come in the Premier League, with the likes of Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana being preferred to the Frenchman.
Also, the return of Trevoh Chalobah from Crystal Palace, as well as the rise of academy youngster Josh Acheampong, has seen the 26-year-old fall even further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
RMC Sport report that Disasi’s proposed switch to Villa Park will be a straight loan deal, while Ben Jacobs claims that all options, permanent or loan, remain on the table.
Villa’s interest in Disasi comes amid an injury to Tyrone Mings, who is expected to spend a short spell on the sidelines after being forced off with a knee issue in the 1-1 draw against West Ham on Sunday.
