Ahead of Friday’s clash at the Amex, we have the Brighton vs Chelsea preview, prediction, latest team news and confirmed lineups.
Brighton Vs Chelsea Preview
Back-To-Back Wins For Brighton?
Six days after their FA Cup success, Brighton will be hoping for the same outcome again on Friday night. The Seagulls lost the reverse fixture 4-2 so don’t expect any love to be lost on Valentine’s Day.
Some revenge has been garnered after last week’s win but Fabian Hurzeler’s side are still aiming to banish the memories of their 7-0 mauling by Nottingham Forest on February 1.
Naturally, that walloping has damaged the South Coast club’s top six chances. As well as put them on a negative goal difference. This could prove vital come the end of the season with European football still a possibility.
Nonetheless, last week’s goalscorers Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma will be doing their upmost to get the Seagulls back on track in the Premier League.
The Brighton vs Chelsea TV channel has been confirmed as Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Viewers can always live stream via Sky Go or Now TV. Kick-off is 8pm GMT.

Palmer To Shine For Chelsea Again?
Chelsea head down to the South Coast hoping to avoid a second successive defeat. Interestingly, the Blues had won their last four against Fabian Hurzeler’s side in all competitions prior to the FA Cup loss.
At the Amex in 2023/24, Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku netted in a 2-1 win on the last day of the season. The former netted four times against the Seagulls earlier in this campaign in a 4-2 win.
Most notably, the England star hit his quartet of goals all before half-time. It was a near perfect performance from Palmer who will aim to shine again on Friday night.
Enzo Maresca will be heavily relying upon the midfield maestro as he seeks to maintain a top-four berth. A UEFA Champions League spot would be a perfect and to the season for Maresca. As well as winning the Conference League.
Ahead of Friday’s Valentine’s Day clash, the best football betting sites in the UK price Chelsea as the 11/8 favourites. Brighton can be backed at 2/1 with the draw 11/4.
Brighton Vs Chelsea Team News
Club legend Lewis Dunk is a doubt for Brighton after injuring his rib in the FA Cup clash. If not passed fit, Adam Webster will likely plug the gap.
There are also doubts over the fitness of Pervis Estupinan and Mats Wieffer. The duo missed out last week and a late decision on their participation is expected.
Jason Steele, Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor Julio, James Milner and Solly March are definitely ruled out. The latter is reportedly recovering well from his lay off and could return before the end of the month.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to welcome back club captain Reece James into the starting XI. He was essentially rested last weekend to avoid any further injuries.
Mykhaylo Mudryk is still suspended and the Blues will also be without Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia, Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu.
Nicolas Jackson will also miss out via injury whereas Jadon Sancho is poised to start. This despite his ‘freedom’ comment on Marcus Rashford’s Instagram post last week.

Brighton Vs Chelsea Prediction
Despite last weekend’s loss, Chelsea have had the upper hand in this fixture over recent seasons. However, we are going to sit on the fence and predict a draw against Brighton on Friday night.
The Seagulls will be buoyed with the FA Cup win and we expect both sides to cancel each other out.
Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Chelsea
