Rumours are circulating in the MMA world that Sean O’Malley vs Cory Sandhagen could feature as the main or co-main event at UFC 315 in Montreal, Canada.

Sean O’Malley vs Cory Sandhagen Rumoured For UFC 315

The latest UFC 315 rumours are that Sean O’Malley could return to action for the first time since September in a compelling bantamweight clash with Cory Sandhagen.

‘Suga’ has been recovered from surgery following his defeat to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 last time out, but looks like he could be back before the summer in a great 135-pound match-up.

Although unconfirmed, Sean O’Malley vs Cory Sandhagen is being strongly rumoured and targeted for UFC 315 on May 10 in Montreal. Canada. As of yet no fights have been made official for UFC 315, but O’Malley vs Sandhagen could be one of the first fights made official for the pay-per-view card.

The Bell Centre in Quebec is set to host UFC 315 on May 10th, with O’Malley vs Sandhagen one of the several fights currently being discussed for the bumper card.

Should the fight get officially announced in the coming weeks, ‘Suga’ would likely go in as the favourite with the best UFC betting sites. This comes as no surprise given the fact he is the former champion and is higher ranked than ‘The Sandman’.

Time will tell whether or not the fight gets officially made, but it is a bout that makes total sense for both fighters, who would both be coming in off a loss to the current champion and last UFC Bantamweight Title challenger respectively.

O’Malley vs Sandhagen Winner In Line For UFC Bantamweight Title Shot

Should the Sean O’Malley vs Cory Sandhagen fight get officially made for UFC 315 in May, it would likely be a final eliminator to see who gets the next shot at Merab Dvalishvili and his 135-pound UFC title.

Dvalishvili of course won the belt last September against ‘Suga’, before successfully defending it at UFC 311 in a stellar victory over Umar Nurmagomedov. The current champion will likely have another title defence against the #2 ranked Petr Yan, before fighting the winner of O’Malley vs Sandhagen after that.

This all depends on the plan that UFC President Dana White has, and what fights he makes at the top end of the bantamweight division. For now absolutely nothing is confirmed. O’Malley vs Sandhagen is sheer speculation, but it is a fight that makes total sense.

Both O’Malley and ‘The Sandman’ are coming in off defeats, with both desperate to get back to winning ways. If the fight is made, then the winner is almost guaranteed the next shot at Merab Dvalishvili and his UFC Bantamweight Title.

That being said, Dvalishvili is in the form of his life and looks almost unbeatable at the minute, so both Sandhagen and O’Malley would go into a title fight with the champion as underdogs with the best UK betting apps. Lets hope the fight gets officially confirmed for UFC 315 very soon.
